Alexandre Lacazette claimed his 50th Premier League goal as we returned to winning ways in convincing fashion at Bramall Lane. The Frenchman opened the scoring with his 49th in the competition - applying the finishing touch to a wonderful team move - before sealing the win late on with goal number 50, tucking home Thomas Partey's excellent throughball. In between those two goals, Gabriel Martinelli scored his first for 15 months, after good work from Nicolas Pepe. There was a welcome clean sheet as well, as we prepared for Thursday's must-win encounter in Prague in the perfect manner. The only blot on the evening was an injury to Bukayo Saka, and it was the youngster – operating in a free role behind the forwards – who had our first attempt, blazing over after bursting into the penalty area. The hosts were passing the ball nicely themselves though and David McGoldrick fired a shot just wide from the edge of the area in an evenly matched opening quarter of an hour. But our link-up play up front was much improved from recent weeks, and we soon took control. Saka, Pepe and Martinelli were combing particularly well, while Dani Ceballos was full of nice touches in midfield. It was one such delightful flick from the Spaniard that set up the opening goal for Lacazette. We worked the ball well outside the area, with Thomas Partey and Saka involved, before Ceballos found Lacazette with a deft touch, and he finished neatly past Aaron Ramsdale. It was a wonderful flowing team goal, and no more than we deserved at that point. Martinelli had already flashed a couple of efforts wide while Calum Chambers – up from full back – had seen his low effort blocked by a defender when it seemed destined for the net. Martinelli himself had a goalbound effort blocked when the ball fell to him from a half-cleared corner. We were well on top by the break, and should really have been further ahead. We continued to make chances after the break – Lacazette was unable to supply the finishing touch after being set up by Pepe – but we didn't look comfortable until the second goal finally came, 20 minutes from time. It was Pepe who pounced on a loose pass, his low shot was only parried by Ramsdale, and Martinelli was in the right place to tap home his first goal since netting at Stamford Bridge in January 2020. Lacazette raced through late on and confidently tucked home Partey's pass to bring up his half century - becoming the 10th Arsenal player to the landmark. Lionel Messi, who returned to the Argentina squad this week, made it six goals in his last five games with a first-half penalty that appeared to have leaders Barca on course to extend a seven-match winning streak in all competitions. But after Luis Suarez went off injured, an astonishing spell saw Jose Campana, Borja Mayoral and Nemanja Radoja all score as the match was turned on its head. Barca's defeat means Real Madrid, who face Real Betis later on Saturday, have the chance to go top of the table with a victory. Antoine Griezmann saw a right-footed effort saved by the outstretched leg of Levante keeper Aitor Fernandez, Messi's throughball having created the opportunity. Barca's breakthrough arrived seven minutes before the break, a slick passing move ending when Arthur found Nelson Semedo, who was hacked down by Jorge Miramon in the box. Messi stepped up and comfortably sent Fernandez the wrong way from 12 yards, finding the top-right corner. He almost had a second with half-time approaching, only for a combination of Fernandez and Miramon to deny him from close range, while Barca were forced to replace an injured Suarez after the striker could not run off an earlier knock. Levante did not produce a shot on target in the first hour, but levelled the match when a poor Gerard Pique clearance led to Mayoral and Jose Luis Morales combining to set up Campana, who confidently beat Marc-Andre ter Stegen from just inside the area. Just two minutes later, Mayoral collected a pass from Campana and curled an excellent 20-yard strike beyond Ter Stegen, who got a hand on it. An astonishing sequence concluded with Levante's third after 68 minutes, with Clement Lenglet's headed clearance volleyed in by Radoja from 18 yards, courtesy of a big deflection off substitute Sergio Busquets. VAR ruled out a second goal for Messi due to offside against Griezmann in the build-up and that was as close as Barca came to producing a fightback, despite the arrival of Ansu Fati from the bench. Barca had started to hit top gear during their seven-match winning streak but could now fall behind rivals Madrid. They have suffered three league defeats in only six away games this season and will also hope the injury to Suarez does not make this collapse even more costly to their title hopes. Campana was superb for Levante, scoring the equaliser, setting up Mayoral's strike and creating three chances for his team-mates in an influential display. The injury to Suarez afforded Griezmann the chance to play more centrally, but he struggled to make an impact as his mixed start to life at Barca continued. He had a first-half chance saved and poorly found the side netting with another opening before being spared by the offside flag. He did not create a single chance for his team-mates either. Barca look to bounce back when they host Slavia Prague in Champions League business on Tuesday before a return to LaLiga action against Celta Vigo on Saturday, a match which is also at Camp Nou. Pulisic produced two neat finishes in the first half, either side of winning a penalty, scored by Ross Barkley. Jerome Onguene pulled one back just after the break, before Pedro's ingenious backheel finish. Michy Batshuayi struck the Blues' fifth, sandwiched between two Takumi Minamino goals for Salzburg. Frank Lampard's side have now won their last three pre-season games, following victories at Spanish champions Barcelona and Championship team Reading. A strong starting XI was impressive in Austria, none more so than American international Pulisic, who joined the Blues from Borussia Dortmund last January before returning to the German club for the rest of the 2018-19 season. Now a member of the Chelsea squad, he demonstrated why they spent £58m to get him, shooting low into the bottom corner after collecting a throughball from Pedro for his first and then taking down a Barkley pass before slotting home his second. Barkley also put in another good pre-season display, adding another goal to the one he scored at Reading at the weekend. Chelsea's final pre-season game is at German side Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday, with their first Premier League game eight days later at Manchester United on 11 August.

A 6-0 thrashing of San Marino saw Czech Republic go second temporarily, but Northern Ireland responded superbly to move back into a play-off berth. Michael O'Neill's side were in front inside two minutes as Jamie Ward fired them ahead and Lars Lagerback's start to life as Norway boss got worse after 33 minutes when Conor Washington doubled the hosts' lead. Washington latched onto Steven Davis' throughball to double Northern Ireland's tally with his first competitive international goal, though Alexander Soderlund had rattled the woodwork at the other end. Northern Ireland went close to a third early in a tame second-half, but they were able to close out a first win over Norway since 1975 despite failing to add to their tally further. The victory leaves Northern Ireland on 10 points from their five fixtures, with Azerbaijan next up in June, while Norway are second bottom on just three points. After a touching tribute to the late Derry City captain Ryan McBride, the hosts wasted no time in taking the lead. Chris Brunt slipped a neat pass into Ward who, despite a poor first touch, managed to spin away from his marker and dispatch a curling finish into the bottom-right corner.
