For most of the 2022 Formula 1 season so far the core reason for Mercedesā lack of performance has been one specific problem: porpoising. A recent, crucial breakthrough with that issue pointed to the world champion team finally starting to salvage its misfiring campaign. But it isnāt as simple as that.
