CANELO was NOT happy 👿🤬😡 #shorts
Canelo Alvarez and Christian Mbilli have reportedly signed a deal to face each other in September. It marks Alvarez's first outing since dropping his undisputed super middleweight titles to Terence Crawford last September. He now has to chance pick up one of his old belts against Mbilli, who was elevated from interim to full WBC champion earlier this year after Crawford was stripped of the green and gold strap. According to Ring Magazine, the pair will headline a 'Mexico vs the World' event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. While the report did not explicitly mention a date, it is understood that the bout is being lined up for September 12, to commemorate Mexican Independence Day weekend. Alvarez skipped his usual Cinco De Mayo date in May to undergo surgery on his left elbow. After completing his rehabilitation, he is now ready to lock horns with Mbilli, whose last fight fell on the Alvarez vs Crawford undercard. Mbilli (29-0-1, 24 KOs) was held to a split draw by Lester Martinez at Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium in an enthralling defence of his interim belt. He captured the secondary title by blowing away Poland's Maciej Sulecki in one round last June. Alvarez’s loss to Crawford via unanimous decision in Las Vegas, Nevada was just the third of his storied combat career — the other two came against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Dmitry Bivol — and snapped his six-fight win streak. Alvarez was hoping to secure a rematch against Crawford but “Bud” ultimately decided to retire as an undefeated (42-0), four-division champion. Now, Canelo has the chance to once again become champion with a win over Mbilli. Speaking of which, the Cameroonian-French Canadian champion is currently undefeated at 29-0-1 and was elevated from interim title holder to WBC world super middleweight champion after the strap was stripped from the aforementioned Terence Crawford. Mbilli was ordered to fight against Hamzah Sheeraz — who also had his eye on a fight against Alvarez — though it ultimately fell through. With 24 knockouts to his name, Mbilli has the chance to secure the biggest win of his pro career, which could set him up for bigger fights moving forward. At 35 years of age, however, Canelo is still fairly young and is determined to prove his naysayers that he has plenty to offer the fight game. Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez, also known as "Canelo" or "Canelo Alvarez" is a Mexican professional boxer. He has held multiple world championships in four weight classes, from light middleweight to light heavyweight, including unified titles in three of those weight classes. In 2021, Álvarez became the first boxer in history to become the undisputed[a] super middleweight champion, before becoming a two-time undisputed super middleweight champion in 2025. He also held the Ring magazine super middleweight title from 2020 to 2025. Christian M'billi is a Cameroonian-French Canadian professional boxer who has held the World Boxing Council (WBC) super-middleweight title since January 2026. David Benavidez is an American professional boxer who has held world championships in two weight classes. He has held the World Boxing Association (WBA) light heavyweight title (Regular version) since February 2025 and the World Boxing Council (WBC) light heavyweight title since April 2025. Previously, he held the WBC super middleweight title twice between 2017 and 2020. Claiming his first world title at 20 years, eight months, three weeks and one day old, Benavidez holds the record as the youngest super middleweight world champion in history. DANIEL DUBOIS vs FABIO WARDLEY: HIGHLIGHTS #shorts
The Fabio Wardley vs Daniel Dubois fight week events have been opened up to the public in Manchester. Ipswich’s Wardley defends his WBO world heavyweight title to former world champion Dubois this weekend on May 9 at the Co-op Live in Manchester. Fabio Wardley has called for Daniel Dubois to make it “a firefight” straightaway when they box for his WBO heavyweight world title next month. Wardley puts his championship on the line against former world titlist Dubois in Manchester. Dubois is known for his tremendous punching power. He was the last man to beat Anthony Joshua, knocking out the heavyweight star when they clashed at Wembley Stadium in 2024.Since then Dubois lost the IBF title to Oleksandr Usyk but will be looking to become a two-time champion when he fights WBO boss Wardley on May 9. Wardley is a finisher himself, notably when stopping Justis Huni late on and Frazer Clarke early in their rematch. He beat Joseph Parker last year too and is now the WBO heavyweight world champion. He intends to take the fight to Dubois from the first bell. "We have all the intention as a team of getting straight in there and getting straight stuck in, getting into his face and making it a fight, making it a firefight," Wardley told Sky Sports News. Daniel Dubois has all the tools to beat Fabio Wardley comfortably, but he won't utilise them. That is the opinion of 'Triple D's' former trainer Shane McGuigan. The esteemed British coach worked with Dubois for four stoppage wins over Bogdan Dinu, Joe Cusumano, Trevor Bryan and Kevin Lerena between 2021 and 2022. They would subsequently go their separate ways ahead of Dubois' first defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in August 2023, with Don Charles taking over the hot seat. Under Charles' guidance, Dubois strung together a trio of impressive knockout wins over Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua, culminating in a short reign as IBF heavyweight champion. While he would eventually drop the black and gold strap to Usyk in a rematch last July, he has since been handed an immediate title shot against WBO heavyweight champion Wardley on May 9. Anthony Joshua has returned to Oleksandr Usyk's training camp as he continues to step up plans to return. Joshua defeated Jake Paul by brutal KO in December, but was involved in a car accident later that month in Nigeria that killed two of his close friends. For a while it appeared the Briton's boxing future was in doubt, as he took time away to deal with things more important than the sport. But it appears he is closing in on a return to full training camp, having been pictured in training with current unified heavyweight champion Usyk.
