The trend seemed to be sweeping the league with some of the most prominent players taking up either a vegan or plant-based diet. First players like Wilson Chandler jumped in then people became interested in Kyrie Irving diet, Chris Paul diet, Damian Lillard diet, DeAndre Jordan diet, Javale Mcgee diet and more. The fad has died down since then and in this video we look at the rise and fall of the NBA vegan. Wilson Chandler was one of the first active NBA players to announce he was ditching meat. Before him, retired NBA player John Salley was not only vegan but loudly and proudly so. He is an advocate for vegan lifestyle as well as cannabis use. Soon bigger names got on board like Kyrie Irving and more recently Chris Paul. It goes against conventional wisdom that a professional athlete can follow a plant-based diet and still get all the fuel their bodies need but these guys have proven it. Some went back on a meat eating diet after they couldn't manage the protein and iron intake but others navigate the lifestyle successfully. The interest in veganism spiked after a documentary called "What The Health?" came out in 2017 on Netflix. NBA player Jahlil Okhafor claimed the film had a big influence on him. In this video I share my skepticism about that documentary but praise athletes who chose to change their lifestyle. On today’s Outkick the Show, Clay Travis discussed the demise of the Los Angeles Rams, with Sean McVay and Jared Goff plummeting in performance and public opinion in just one season. How did it happen, asked Travis? The NFL will catch up with what happens on the offensive side of the ball. Clay Travis went on to comment on the surge of the Baltimore Ravens and QB Lamar Jackson. Clay remains a skeptic because history has taught football fans over the years that long-range success for running quarterbacks eventually come to an end. Quarterbacks who run work, but running quarterbacks do not, said Travis. Clay Travis then gave his weekly list of top 5/bottom 5 teams in the NFL: 1. San Francisco 49ers 2. New England Patriots 3. Cincinnati Bengals Clay Travis concluded by addressing the situation with PETA and Uga, with PETA tweeting their approval of the University of Georgia using a live animal for a mascot. Clay countered by saying Uga is treated better than 99.9% of people and PETA is overacting.

Conflicting reports swirl about a Spurs players’ meeting with Kawhi Leonard
