Throwing BIG Bladed ChatterBaits for Fall Bass (My Biggest Of The Year!)
Throwing BIG Bladed ChatterBaits for Fall Bass (My Biggest Of The Year!)

Big baits, big bass — this adage held for Wired2fish staffer McKeon "Keys" Roberts as he put the Z-Man Big Blade ChatterBait to work on some jumbo fall bass on shallow grass flats. Keys smartly employed an effective 1-2 punch. He started his day using a buzzbait with excellent success, then headed subsurface with a fresh addition to Z-Man's lineup of fish-catching bladed jigs. His first topwater pass plucked off the most active bass, while a follow-up pass focused on contacting grass stems (lily pads and wild rice) with the ChatterBait to coax fresh fish. It worked as planned! Consequently, reeling it slower (1/2-ounce model) kept the bait subsurface and prevented blowing out. Like typical crankbait and bladed jig fishing, changing retrieve speed and cadence positively impacted action and trigged bass. A simple reel quarter-turn sent the bait off track in a deadly way. Lastly, Keys dives into a discussion on the right rod for fishing ChatterBaits, or rather, how personal experience determines the right rod for you. Contrary to the mainstream opinion of needing a soft rod, he prefers a medium-heavy or heavy power rod spooled with braid for reliable hooking and power for winching bass from cover. It's hard to argue with success. He wants to hear from you! What rod action do you prefer, what type of line, and why? Drop your comments below. The Dons are coming off of a heartbreaking defeat to Plymouth Argyle, and have a tune-up match against a somewhat shallow Shrewsbury. The likes of Palmer and Rudoni, who are coming off of injury, will be key pieces to an AFC Wimbledon side that has fizzled out in chance-creation as of late. COYD!

La Vuelta 2021 Stage 15 Highlights | Breakaways And GC Action In The Mountains

Another tough day in the Mountains, the stage starts in Sierra de Gredos towards the eastern area of the massifs. Flat at the beginning around the region of Extremadrua, once the riders enter the province of Castilla-La-Mancha the first of four cat climbs begins. The first climb is up the Alto de la Centera for 15.5km, but not even before riders complete a full descent does the next climb of Puerto de Pedro Bernardo ascend, albeit a longer but shallower climb. Roglič and Mas could be battling it out through this stage with the next climb reaching 1,570m above sea level (the highest point of the stage), climbing for a whole 20km and with the last climb of Puerto San Juan de Nava having bonus points could cause a scramble between the top of the GC contenders. Whilst then racing downhill away from Juan de Nava towards the finish, that will make for a potential fast pace ending for the stage. Subscribe to GCN+ for cycling as you have never seen it before! #Short - Strike Giant Travelly #GT #Fishing

The giant trevally (Caranx ignobilis), also known as the lowly trevally, barrier trevally, giant kingfish or ulua, is a species of large marine fish classified in the jack family, Carangidae. The giant trevally is distributed throughout the tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific region, with a range stretching from South Africa in the west to Hawaii in the east, including Japan in the north and Australia in the south. Two were documented in the eastern tropical Pacific in the 2010s (one captured off Panama and another sighted at the Galápagos), but it remains to be seen if the species will become established there.[2] The giant trevally is distinguished by its steep head profile, strong tail scutes, and a variety of other more detailed anatomical features. It is normally a silvery colour with occasional dark spots, but males may be black once they mature. It is the largest fish in the genus Caranx, growing to a maximum known size of 170 cm (67 in) and a weight of 80 kg (176 lbs). The giant trevally inhabits a wide range of marine environments, from estuaries, shallow bays and lagoons as a juvenile to deeper reefs, offshore atolls and large embayments as an adult. Juveniles of the species are known to live in waters of very low salinity such as coastal lakes and upper reaches of rivers, and tend to prefer turbid waters. The giant trevally is an apex predator in most of its habitats, and is known to hunt individually and in schools. The species predominantly takes various fish as prey, although crustaceans, cephalopods and molluscs make up a considerable part of their diets in some regions. The giant trevally employs novel hunting strategies, including shadowing monk seals to pick off escaping prey, as well as using sharks to ambush prey. Footage released in 2017 on Blue Planet II revealed a group of approximately 50 giant trevally hunting terns, specifically fledglings still learning to fly and which crash land in the water, as well as both fledglings and adults unfortunate enough to fly low enough for the fish to pounce on them, in Farquhar Atoll in the Seychelles. The giant trevally reproduces in the warmer months, with peaks differing by region. Spawning occurs at specific stages of the lunar cycle, when large schools congregate to spawn over reefs and bays, with reproductive behaviour observed in the wild. The fish grows relatively fast, reaching sexual maturity at a length of around 60 cm at three years of age. The giant trevally is both an important species to commercial fisheries and a recognised gamefish, with the species taken by nets and lines by professionals and by bait and lures by anglers. Catch statistics in the Asian region show hauls of 4,000–10,000 tonnes, while around 10,000 lbs of the species is taken in Hawaii each year. The species is considered poor to excellent table fare by different authors, although ciguatera poisoning is common from eating the fish. Dwindling numbers around the main Hawaiian Islands have also led to several proposals to reduce the catch of fish in this region.

Fly Fishing - Prospecting Subtle & Overlooked Water. Fly Fishing Tactics For Less Pressured Trout

Busy holiday season means that most trout have seen a few flies and lures cross their feeding zone. One key to catching trout in these busy times is to break down a stream and find those subtle lies that many anglers overlook while using smaller flies and longer, fine leaders to work these often shallow holding trout. Let's have a look in this video at a few such places and how to cast, move, and work the water. Cleveland's Josh Naylor hospitalized after gruesome ankle injury

Cleveland right fielder Josh Naylor was hospitalized on Sunday after a gruesome ankle injury suffered against the Minnesota Twins. Naylor sustained the injury in the fourth inning while attempting to field a fly ball off the bat of Minnesota's Jorge Polanco. Second baseman Ernie Clement gave chase to the pop-up to shallow right field and collided with Naylor as both players attempted to make a play on the ball. #NAYLOR #JoshNaylor #Brokenleg
