Dalam wawancara bersama media Prancis, Mane mengungkapkan bahwa dirinya tak ingin hidup glamor seperti Cristiano Ronaldo dan Neymar. Sebagai pesepakbola dirinya hanya ingin bermain bola saja. Soal kehidupan, Mane lebih memilih untuk hidup serba sederhana. Wajar saja kenapa Mane lebih memilih hidup sederhana, pasalnya dirinya berasal dari keluarga yang miskin di Senegal. Lebih hebatnya lagi, dari gaji besarnya sebagai pesepakbola, Mane telah banyak membantu orang-orang di kampung halamannya. Dilaporkan Mane telah membangun sekolah, rumah sakit, masjid, dan memberikan bantuan uang tunai Rp 1,2 juta rupiah per bulan untuk para keluarga kurang mampu.
