I expect the 4-2-3-1 to continue and with a fully fit squad, Ronaldo will slot in up front. Simply put, Ronaldo is perfectly suited to Solskjaer’s Manchester United. Whilst his pressing numbers could be higher, Solskjaer hasn’t had a true pressing forward to build his team around. Because of this, Solskjaer has had success using a press that sees turnovers forced in the middle third by midfielders rather than the final third by forwards like you see with the German school of pressing. This less proactive style of pressing means that Ronaldo won’t break the structure and shouldn’t change how United play without the ball. But where he’ll really shine is when Manchester United have possession. At 36, Cristiano Ronaldo has adapted his game from being a direct, dribbling winger in his youth to a pure goalscorer. Saying that, he still averaged nearly 3 dribbles per 90 (2.86) during his time in Serie A so don’t expect a complete poacher. But rather than constantly receiving in the wide areas, beating several players before cutting in and scoring, Ronaldo now largely operates in and around the penalty area. That being said, his second goal against Hungary at Euro 2020 showed his evolution and how he’s still capable of scoring fluid goals. But what Ronaldo will really bring is an aerial threat. Ronaldo is almost the perfect striker for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s wing play approach where the majority of United’s chances come from the wide areas. But with Cristiano Ronaldo back in red, United have a genuine target to aim crosses towards, especially crosses to the back post. His technique, height and leap combined with an ability to hang in the air make him almost undefendable from crossing situations. This will see United cross more often but with the option to cross early from deeper positions. This could see a slight tweak in approach, with Luke Shaw continuing to hold the width on the left but Bruno Fernandes to take up more positions in the inside right channel to provide whipped crosses from that flank. Ronaldo’s true worth could be off the field. It’s well documented that Cristiano Ronaldo is the hardest working footballer, if not sportsman. His hard work and dedication to becoming the very best at everything he does is incredible and it’s shaped him into one of the greatest players of all time. Despite winning 32 major honours as well as 5 Ballon D'Or awards, Ronaldo still wants to win more. He’s stated that he expects to win the Premier League in his first season back in the competition and his sheer determination will win matches for Manchester United. Ronaldo is the ultimate big game player who turns up when it matters most. Gazi Koşusu'nda zafer BURGAS’ın oldu Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk adına, 1927 yılından beri kesintisiz olarak düzenlenen, Türk Yarışçılığının Derbisi Gazi Koşusu, İstanbul Veliefendi Hipodromu’nda, 26 Haziran Cumartesi günü gerçekleşti. Geçtiğimiz yıl olduğu gibi bu yıl da Pandemi kuralları çerçevesinde gerçekleştirilen organizasyonda, yılın şampiyonunu belirleyen sezonun bu en önemli klasiğine, 21'i erkek, 1'i dişi toplam 22 tay katıldı. 2021 yılının Gazi Koşusu şampiyonu, jokeyi Ahmet Çelik ile bu önemli mücadelede boy gösteren Burgas (King David – Thisbe / Yavuzstar) oldu. Sanem Kahraman'ın sahibi olduğu, Fedai Kahraman tarafından yetiştirilen 3 yaşlı doru erkek tay için bitiriş derecesi 2.27.36 oldu. Antrenörlüğünü ise Tevfik Bardakcı'nın yaptığı safkan bu prestijli mücadeledeki galibiyetiyle birlikte ilk G1 zaferini elde ederken, kariyerinin dokuzuncu startındaki altıncı birinciliğini hanesine yazdırmış oldu. Safkanın jokeyi Ahmet Çelik, bu galibiyetle birlikte üst üste yedinci Gazi zaferine ulaşarak kırılması zor bir rekorun altına imza attı ve 9 Gazi zaferi bulunan efsane isim Mümin Çılgın'ın rekoruna bir adım daha yaklaştı. Çelik, 2015'te Renk, 2016'da Graystorm, 2017'de Piano Sonata, 2018'de Hep Beraber, 2019'da The Last Romance ve 2020'de Call To Victory ile galibiyete uzanmıştı. Son derece keyifli bir mücadeleye sahne olan koşuda Melis Kurtel Emin'in sahibi olduğu Real Runner (Invincible Son - Baklava / Cape Cross) jokeyi Gökhan Kocakaya idaresinde kendisine tabelanın ikinci basamağında yer buldu. Adnan Türkoğlu'na ait Megaloman (Native Khan - Bona Dea / Linngari) Kadir Tokaçoğlu ile üçüncü olarak pistten ayrılırken, Ahmet Kurt'un sahibi olduğu İllüzyon (Kaneko - Nikiniki / Sri Pekan) jokeyi Özcan Yıldırım idaresinde dördüncü oldu. Yarışçılığımızın en önemli mücadelesinde, Gün Emre İçer'e ait Anadolu Aslanı (Victory Gallop - Mila Bella / Intense Focus) jokeyi Mehmet Kaya ile beşinci olurken, farklar 1,5 Boy - Burun - 2 Boy - 1,5 Boy şeklinde sonuçlandı. Yılın en önemli randevusunda bu yılki birincilik ödülü 2.100.000 TL olarak belirlenirken, ikinciye 840.000 TL, üçüncüye 420.000 TL, dördüncüye 210.000 TL, beşinciye de 105.000 TL yarış ikramiyesi dağıtıldı. Koşuyu kazanan tayın sahibi birincilik ikramiyesine ek olarak kayıt tutarları, taksit ücretleri ve at sahibi primiyle birlikte toplam 3.134.100 TL’lik bir ikramiye kazanmış oldu. Koşunun ardından tertiplenen törende, kazanan safkanın sahibesi Sanem Kahraman'a 95. Gazi Koşusu kupasını Gençlik ve Spor Bakanı Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu takdim etti. Safkanın antrenörü Tevfik Bardakcı'ya plaketini Tarım ve Orman Bakan Yardımcısı ve YKK Başkanı Mehmet Hadi Tunç verdi. Kazanan safkanın jokeyi Ahmet Çelik ise plaketini İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediye Başkanı Ekrem İmamoğlu'nun elinden aldı. Törene; Kulübümüz Başkanı Serdal Adalı, Kulübümüz Genel Sekreteri Ahmet Özbelge, Yönetim Kurulu Üyelerimiz Hakan Yücetürk ve Tuğban İzzet Aksoy, kazanan safkanın yetiştiricisi Fedai Kahraman ve safkanın ilgilileri de katıldı.
