The first match of the series will be played between the Asian neighbours at Hagley Oval Christchurch with temperatures expected to be around 4 degrees celsius. Pakistan are coming off a 4-3 series loss against the English side who dominated them in their own backyard. Despite some good performances from the opener Mohammed Rizwan the Men in Green were outplayed by the pace of their opponents which might be a big concern for them in this series too. On the other hand Bangladesh won their previous two-match series against the UAE where they did not miss the opportunity to defeat a slightly weaker side. However in the Asia cup they went home winless losing in both the games they played against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. Pakistan are highly dependent on the form of Mohammad Rizwan to take them through with their skipper Babar Azam being out of touch for a month. Their bowling looks a bit better but it will be interesting to see how they perform on these wickets. The Tigers might struggle a lot with their bowling and more so with their batting which finds it difficult to deal with pace. Head-to-head Pakistan are up by 8-2 against their rivals in the ten matches they have played so far. Expect a high-octane clash when these two dominant Asian sides clash against each other in the backdrop of the World Cup.
