IPL 2019: CSK batsman Kedar Jadhav ruled out of the playoffs edar Jadhav has been ruled out of the remainder of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), the defending champions – Chennai Super Kings – confirmed on Monday. Jadhav left the field, during the second innings of Sunday’s game against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali, with physio Tommy Simsek after he hurt his shoulder. The incident occurred in the 14th over when Jadhav dived to his left to stop an overthrow from Ravindra Jadeja. CSK head coach Stephen Fleming also hinted against Jadhav’s further participation in the tournament, at the post-match press conference. Fleming had said that Jadhav’s focus would now shift to the World Cup as he wouldn’t be playing any more games in the IPL. “Kedar is getting an X-ray and a scan tomorrow. We’re hopeful for him. I don’t think we’ll see him again in this tournament for us. So now his attention will turn to what it looks like for the World Cup. He’s in some discomfort but we just need to be accurate with our assessments tomorrow. Fingers crossed that it’s nothing too serious,” Fleming had said on Sunday. They fell to a six-wicket loss against defendingchampions Chennai Super Kings in their previous home game but preceding that was a comprehensive 37-run win over Mumbai Indians. Delhi’s win against Mumbai was powered by Rishabh Pant’s blinder of an innings. The Capitals would be hoping that the young wicketkeeper can play an innings as effective as that one in the final overs so as to nullify the threat that Andre Russell carries. Russell’s death over antics with the bat has been one of the main reasons behind KKR’s two wins thus far. IPL match between Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders will be broadcast on Star Sports 1, Star Sports 1 HD and the live streaming of the game will be available on Hotstar. DC- 45/1 Delhi need 141 more runs in 84 balls For those wondering if Russell will be able to bowl in the second dig, he was just spotted taking the ice-pack off, running in, and bowling on the practice tracks at Kotla. Shikhar Dhawan falls against the run of play for 16. Piyush Chawla picks up the wicket. Russell with a neat catch. However, that was a lose shot by Dhawan. DC- 27/1, 2.4 ovs Delhi resume run-chase with Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan. 186 is the target! Let's Play. Chawla and Kuldeep make a mess of running an extra run off the last ball and so KKR have to settle for 185, which is far more than what looked like their score would be at one point. An astounding 95-run stand between Russell and Karthik bailed them out and this has actually turned out to be a good total. Karthik had just reached a half-century. He tries to cut it late but the ball is much slower than what he expected and he nicks it to the keeper. Morris with a short ball, Russell pulls gets a top edge on it which is enough in his case for the ball to go over the line but not this time. Rabada comes running in and so does Tewatia from the deep. The latter takes the catch and collides with Rabada. Fortunately it was not too dangerous for them and they both walk off with a smile on their faces. He is destroying the stadium, Andre Russell. He smashed two sixes in the 16th over, both of which absolutely slammed against the banners just below the third tier. This is utterly ridiculous. Chris Morris was bowling the 15th over. He slipped while trying to deliver the fifth ball and his right foot landed awkwardly just as he was loading up for the next delivery. KKR are 101/5. Still a lot of work to do for them and much will depend upon how Russell does. However, he still seems in some discomfort. Time out has been taken and the physio is out. Harshal Patel with a beamer that hits Russell on the shoulder. He is on the ground and seems to need some attention but then the big man gets up with a smile and walks it off. He has crosses 1000 IPL runs. #russel #kkrvsdc

‘Heartbreaking’, ‘Gutted’ – Some Fans React After Arsenal Star Suffers Serious Injury
‘Heartbreaking’, ‘Gutted’ – Some Fans React After Arsenal Star Suffers Serious Injury

‘Heartbreaking’, ‘Gutted’ – Some Fans React After Arsenal Star Suffers Serious Injury. Some Arsenal fans have been reacting on social media after Danny Welbeck suffered what looked to be a serious injury during our Europa League clash with Sporting Lisbon this evening. Unai Emery made plenty of changes from the side that drew with Liverpool on Saturday evening with Welbeck among those recalled as the England international replaced Alexandre Lacazette up front against the Portuguese giants tonight. Welbeck was looking lively early on and almost opened the scoring when he latched on to a Stephan Lichtsteiner cross but his effort was cleared off the line by a Sporting Lisbon defender. However, Welbeck’s night was over soon after as the striker went down in a heap after challenging for a header midway through the first half and he immediately called for the Arsenal medical team. It was clear the forward was in considerable pain with his Arsenal team mates looking on in shock as Welbeck was given oxygen as the physios put his right ankle into a splint before carrying him off on a stretcher in the 30th minute to be replaced by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Understandably, fans have been expressing their disappointment that Welbeck appears to have suffered yet another serious injury as his career at Arsenal has been blighted by a number of injury problems since he joined from Manchester United. Supporters have taken to social media to say how ‘heartbreaking’ it is while TV presenter and lifelong Arsenal fan Piers Morgan was among those to say how ‘gutted’ they are for Welbeck. Fans have also been speculating that we won’t see Welbeck play again this season. We’ll have to wait for updates from Unai Emery after the game but let’s pray it’s not as serious as it seemed on TV. Check out what some fans have been saying following Welbeck’s injury: Well that's just heartbreaking for Danny 😢 — Daily Cannon (@DailyCannon) November 8, 2018 Gutted for @DannyWelbeck. Poor guy. #afc pic.twitter.com/SO6UfQaF9m — Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) November 8, 2018 Oh man, I’m so so gutted for Danny Welbeck.I really hope the injury isn’t as bad as this picture makes it seem. 😳 pic.twitter.com/g9TO3kJfuK — Moh Haider (@ArsenalMoh8) November 8, 2018 Poor Danny Welbeck. Difficult to find words for quite how unfortunate he has been with injury. — gunnerblog (@gunnerblog) November 8, 2018 Guendouzi almost in tears. Oxygen mask and a leg brace out for Welbeck by the looks of it. #AFC players clearly moved. — Mark Mann-Bryans (@MarkyMBryans) November 8, 2018 Sad to see Welbeck suffer another injury set-back. Gets a big ovation as he is carried off with the crowd chanting his name. #ARSSPO — Mattias Karén (@MattiasKaren) November 8, 2018 Sad to see Danny Welbeck carried off in distress to be replaced by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Let's hope his injury isn't as serious as it looks. Such was his powerful display at the Estadio Jose Alvalade two weeks ago the Portuguese sportspages dubbed him the 'Welbeck Express' — Layth (@laythy29) November 8, 2018 Just seen the picture. Suffice it to say – Danny won't be on the pitch again this season I'd wager. — You Are My Arsenal (@YouAreMyArsenal) November 8, 2018 Danny Welbeck is stretchered off with his leg in a splint, needing oxygen 😢 — Daily Cannon (@DailyCannon) November 8, 2018 Regardless of what the result is, I think we can all agree that the main thing is that Welbeck returns to full fitness as soon as possible. Judging by the reactions of both himself and his teammates, it looked serious. Wishing you a speedy recovery, Danny! We’re all behind you. — Patrick Timmons (@PatrickTimmons1) November 8, 2018

Rangers seek fan who struck linesman with a missile during game at Livingston. Rangers security chiefs will ask their Livingston counterparts for CCTV footage in a bid to help identify the culprit who struck assistant referee Calum Spence with a missile on Sunday. The Ibrox side's clash with Livi at the Tony Macaroni Arena was held up for several minutes after the assistant referee was struck on the back of his head by what appeared to be a coin. The incident occurred around 15 minutes into the second half when an object was thrown from the East Stand housing the travelling Gers support. Spence had to be treated by Lions physio Andy MacKenzie after sustaining a wound to the back of his head. But he was able to continue and saw out the match, which Gary Holt's side won 1-0 thanks to a Dolly Menga winner. Gers chiefs are now set to contact Livingston's security officers to offer assistance in tracking down the person responsible. Sky Sports News understands the incident will be included in the referee's report and the SPFL may take action after reviewing the match delegate's report. After the match, Rangers manager Steven Gerrard condemned the ugly scenes. He said: "I don't think that belongs in football, does it? I think we all know that's not right. He's trying to do a job, so that's not right."
