Im Santos, and this is my channel - Travelista. As the name suggests A travelista is like a fashionista -but for travel. The fashionista is always up on the latest fashion trends and always looks top-notch. The travelista is always traveling to some new and exotic locale and is not dissuaded by any world turmoil or even wars. for example, the travelista will go to an exotic resort nestled in the border between pakistan and afghanistan. arab spring? according to the travelista, this is the best time to travel to northern africa. it is more exciting that way! traditional european cities are old hat to the travelista. And About me, im a passionte traveller from Kerala (Gods own country) in India. I am a day dreamer and has bult an inevitable desire to travel the wold. I have visited more than 24 countries during my life when i was at merchant navy. I have offboarded the vessel with a great desire to travel. As a Youtube vlogger, i started the carrier with a bycycle and roamed in and around Thrissur (native place) with my Gopro camera and shot the places which made me viral. The channel grew very fast earning subscirbers, maiking me to think of an all India Travel. I started a vanlife, which was similar to Europian or western van life culture and finished an All India trip with my two friends, Binoy and Lisshoy. We altered a Force Tempo traveller into a traveling home and named him Kapitan -" the ship captain" . We have covered almost most of the places in India main land with our beloved Kapitan, had done vidoes about India's villages, peoples, landsacpes, rivers and so on. We were also permitted by the Ministry of Defence of India to shoot several episodes with Indian Army (Border Security Force) and have touched LOC (Line of Control) at Pakistan, which was a great honor for us, and made Travelista apart from other travel vloggers in India. in this new season, i have started a solo trip to Africa via Dubai, coverd certain places in Arab. My travel has reached African continet from Aisa and next few days i ll be covering African countries such as Zimbawe, Keniya, etc; One of my bucket list item is the great migration of Masi Mara.....Yes, please wait for the vidoes. RJ Schreck named MiLB International League Player of the Week honors.
This afternoon, Minor League Baseball announced that Buffalo Bisons OF RJ Schreck has been named the International League Player of the Week for the week of May 4-10. Schreck recorded at least one base hit in all six games against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs last week, amassing a .600 batting average by going 15-25 at the plate. The Los Angeles native capped his most productive week at Triple-A with a 3-5 afternoon on Sunday against the IronPigs.
Duke Men's Lacrosse: A New Endowed Scholarship in Honor of Jimmy Regan
Rick Vosburgh, Class of 1972, has generously endowed a scholarship in honor of Jimmy Regan. A native of Manhasset, N.Y., Regan was born in 1980 to James and Mary Regan. He graduated from Chaminade High School in Mineola, N.Y., and went on to play lacrosse and study economics at Duke. The midfielder helped guide the Blue Devils to a four-year record of 43-21 with a pair of ACC titles in 2001 and 2002 and four NCAA Tournament appearances. He was named to the 2002 ACC All-Tournament team after scoring a career-high four goals and adding an assist as Duke defeated then top-ranked Virginia, 14-13, in the championship game. Following his graduation from Duke in the spring of 2002, Regan turned down a job offer from UBS (a financial services company) and a scholarship to Southern Methodist University's law school to enlist in the Army. Surprising many of his friends and family members, he chose to enter the U.S. Army Ranger School, emailing his former teammates the explanation "This is what I have to do." Regan went on to graduate first in his class in infantry basic combat training. After completing the basic airborne course and Ranger Indoctrination program at Fort Benning in Georgia, he became a member of the 3rd Battalion. Regan served as a machine gunner, gun team leader and then fire team leader during two deployments each to Afghanistan and Iraq, as a part of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. His service in the Army was to end in February of 2008. He and his fiancée, Mary McHugh, had made plans to marry and move to Chicago upon his return to the United States, and he had hopes of becoming a social studies teacher and lacrosse coach. Regan was killed Feb. 9, 2007 in northern Iraq when an improvised explosive device (IED) targeted his vehicle. He was 26. The Army Ranger Lead the Way Fund was founded in Regan's honor by his family and friends, and continues to assist wounded and fallen Army Rangers and their families through health and wellness programs, casualty and recovery efforts, transition to civilian life and several other services. To date the Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund has given over $7 million in financial support to the families of the 75th Ranger Regiment. "Through the Lead The Way Fund, his family and friends strive to honor his spirit, his patriotism and the way he lived his life by combining our efforts to give back to his brothers, the U.S. Army Rangers," reads part of the mission statement.
