Max Verstappen CAMPIONE del mondo F1 2021! Batte Lewis all'ultimo giro! INCREDIBILE
Al termine di una gara ricca di colpi di scena, Max Verstappen vince ed è campione del mondo. L'olandese si è imposto nel Gran Premio di Abu Dhabi 2021 di Formula 1 superando nell'ultimo giro Lewis Hamilton. Completa il podio Carlos Sainz approfittando del ritiro di Sergio Perez. Soltanto 6° Valtteri Bottas alla sua ultima corsa con la Mercedes, decimo Charles Leclerc. Gran Premio di Abu Dhabi che era iniziato male per Verstappen, che al via nonostante partisse con le soft è stato bruciato da Hamilton. Verstappen tentava subito di riprendersi la prima posizione attaccando ed arrivando quasi al contatto con Hamilton, che tagliava la curva e rimaneva in testa. Nonostante le proteste della Red Bull i commissari decidevano di non penalizzare Hamilton che sfruttando le medie ed i problemi con le rosse di Verstappen andava in fuga. L'olandese era costretto al pit stop seguito da Hamilton, mentre Perez rimaneva in pista. Proprio questa mossa permetterà a Verstappen di riaprire la gara. Infatti nel ventesimo giro Hamilton dopo aver ripreso supera Perez, che però per ben due volte rischiando il tutto per tutto gli torna davanti e gli fa perdere tempo, permettendo a Verstappen di recuperare tutto lo svantaggio che aveva al pit stop. Hamilton però una volta liberatosi di Perez tornava ad allungare, mentre Verstappen non riusciva a rispondere ai suoi tempi. Il primo colpo di scena arrivava quando dopo il ritiro nella sua ultima corsa in F1 di Kimi Raikkonen, anche Antonio Giovinazzi doveva parcheggiare l'Alfa in pista, e veniva applicata la procedura della virtual safety car. Verstappen sfruttava questo momento per cambiare le gomme, mentre Hamilton decideva di non fermarsi. L'olandese quando la gara riparte guadagna su Hamilton, che però nonostante gomme più usate aveva a dieci giri dalla bandiera a scacchi un vantaggio di undici secondi. Quando ormai il Gran Premio di Abu Dhabi sembrava nelle mani di Hamilton, ecco il colpo di scena con Nicholas Latifi che va a muro con la safety car che entra in pista. Ancora una vota Verstappen cambia gomme, mentre Hamilton furioso per un episodio che ha ribaltato una corsa e stagione che sembrava già decisa, prosegue. Safety car che rimarrà in pista parecchi giri, con Masi che sembrava aver deciso visto il poco tempo a disposizione di non far ripartire la gara, fra le proteste della Red Bull. Invece ad un giro dalla fine la safety car torna in pista con la gara che riparte nonostante i doppiati che non avevano tempo per raggiungere il gruppo, facendo infuriare Toto Wolff. Verstappen non perde tempo e sfruttando gomme più fresche supera Hamilton in curva 5. Hamilton non si arrende e prova a tornargli davanti, ma Verstappen chiudendogli la porta va a vincere il Gran Premio di Abu Dhabi ed il primo mondiale della sua carriera, riportando il titolo a Milton Keynes ed interrompendo l'imbattibilità nell'era ibrida della Mercedes. Alle loro spalle Sainz che grazie al ritiro di Perez conquista il quarto podio con la Ferrari, ed il quinto posto della classifica piloti, le due Alpha Tauri di Yuki Tsunoda e Pierre Gasly, e Bottas. Completano la zona punti Lando Norris 7° dopo essere dovuto rientrare ai box per una foratura, Fernando Alonso, Esteban Ocon e Charles Leclerc. Dietro al monegasco Sebastian Vettel, seguito da Daniel Ricciardo, Lance Stroll e Mick Schumacher.
