Gor moves to eighth position after beating Western Stima

Defending champions Gor Mahia have moved up to 8th position on the Kenya Premier League table after beating Western Stima 3-1 in one of the two matches played today. Gor Mahia, looking for a third win of the season, opened the scoring in the 23rd minute through Samuel Onyango, but Stima were back on level terms just before the break. Two second half goals from Tito Okello sealed the win for Kogalo, who are 9 points behind leaders KCB but with two games in hand. Mathare United recorded their first win of the season thanks to a 2-0 win over Zoo Kericho in the other encounter played today. Daniel Otieno and John Mwangi were the two goal-scorers for Mathare in the opening 12 minutes of the game. Nairobi City Stars claim a 2-0 win over Nzoia Sugar

Newly promoted Kenyan Premier side Nairobi City Stars started their FKF premier league campaign on a high note after claiming a 2-0 win over Nzoia Sugar. Anthony Kimani’s 16th minute goal put City Stars ahead in the first half before Olivier Maloba doubled City’s lead in the 18th minute. Elsewhere, KCB started their campaign with a 3-0 win over Posta Rangers. Derrick Otanga was the first man on the score sheet after giving KCB the lead in the 21st minute. During the second half, KCB added two other goals in the 71st and 88th minutes courtesy of Henry Onyango and Enock Agwanda respectively. In other results, Western Stima was held to a barren draw by newly promoted side Bidco United while Kariobangi Sharks thrashed Wazito Fc 4-0.
