Mare SEYE - Aikido Interview (2/2)
Mare Seye is a 6th Dan professional Aikido instructor and long time student of Christian Tissier Shihan (8th Dan Aikikai). He started Aikido in France in 1987 and became a member of the National Technical College of the French Aikido Federation in 2005. He took on several technical positions within the French Aikido Federation over the years, most notably as the technical director of the Basse Normandie region from 2005 to 2011, and of the Île-de-France (Paris) region from 2013 to 2017. Mr Seye is also involved in the National Dan Examination Board and conducts seminars throughout the year in France and abroad. Sekiguchi-ryu Iaijutsu - 42nd Japanese Kobudo Demonstration (2019)
Yonehara Kameo Sensei and his students demonstrating Sekiguchi-ryu Iaijutsu during the 42nd Nihon Kobudo Embutaikai held at the Nippon Budokan on February 3rd, 2019. The event also commemorated the 40th anniversary of the Nihon Kobudo Kyokai. The school was founded by Sekiguchi Yarokuemon Ujishin as a style of Ju-jutsu. His eldest son, Sekiguchi Ujinari added the sword techniques that constituted the style Iai-jutsu. During the Tokugawa period the Sekiguchi-ryu spread throughout Japan. Alexey Alexeyevich Oleynik (born June 25, 1977 as Oleksíy Oleksíyovych Olíynyk) is a Ukrainian-born Russian[3][2] mixed martial artist, jujitsuka, combat sambist and grappler currently signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, competing in their heavyweight division. A professional competitor who began his career in 1997, he is a M-1 Global veteran and has fought for Bellator, KSW, BodogFIGHT, and YAMMA Pit Fighting. He is the only fighter to win a UFC fight via Ezekiel choke,[9] and has now done so twice. After many years of experience, when he was retired at the Kita no Tenman-gu sanctuary in Kyoto to compile his researches, he had a great revelation while he was watching a “Yoryu” willow bending under the wind. He founded his school and named it “Tenjin Shinyo Ryu”, by using the name of Tenmangu’s divinity, “Tenshin” (the spirit of Michizane), and by picking one character out of each school he used to practice before: “Shin” and “Yo”. At the end of the Shogunate, he was teaching to over 5,000 students, and among 170 schools of Jujutsu, his claimed to surpass the others by far, and the warriors of numerous clans were competing to train there. At the beginning of the Meiji era, in 1877, the founder of the Kodokan Jigoro Kano Shihan passed the gate of Shihan Fukuda Yanosuke’s house to train there.
