CSK's Deepak Chahar Proposed His GF During The IPL Match After MS Dhoni's Advice
The match between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings became an affair to look out for due to so many reasons. Though CSK didn’t have a fine day on the field as they lost the match against PBKS by six wickets, a CSK player, Deepak Chahar precisely, had a great day off-field. Right after the match got over, Chahar went into stands rather than moving into the dressing room. It was completely unknown as to what the pacer he is up to as he pulled out a ring from his pocket and proposed to his girlfriend Jaya Bhardwaj in front of all. In the same light of events, Deepak Chahar’s father- Lokendra Singh Chahar opened up on the details of the surprising event, as reported by Jagran.com. He added that Deepak wanted to propose her ladylove for quite some time but had planned to do so during the playoffs stage. However, on the advice of CSK skipper MS Dhoni, he planned out the thing during the last league match of CSK. Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir reckoned that the Royal Challengers Bangalore have underutilized AB de Villiers for quite a few seasons of the Indian Premier League. In the ongoing edition of the T20 tournament, De Villiers played some scintillating knocks in India. But he has had a tough time after the event had to be shifted to the UAE in the COVID-19 pandemic. In 13 games thus far, De Villiers has scored 276 runs with two half-centuries to show for his efforts. In the UAE, the Pretoria-born has got scores of 0, 12, 11, 4, 23, 19. Gambhir felt that the veteran is batting way down the order and that his ideal position is either opening or at No.3. Gambhir was also surprised by the fact that De Villiers batted at No.6 in the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad a couple of days ago at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. “(On RCB under-utilizing de Villiers) Not only this season, for a lot of seasons. In fact, I was of the opinion that he should open the batting or bat at No 3 for RCB. Batting AB de Villiers at No.6 makes no sense to me,” Gambhir was quoted as saying to ESPNcricinfo. While the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) hasn’t been concluded yet, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have started their preparations for the next season. Two new teams are set to come into the picture – making IPL a ten-team event. Moreover, a mega auction will also take place which would see the teams going under revamps. For the unversed, in the mega auction, each franchise is allowed to retain just a few players. Although the retention policy for the next isn’t out yet, all teams aren’t expected to retain more than two or three players. Speaking on the matter, former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra said Mumbai Indians should retain their skipper Rohit Sharma and pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah if only a couple of retentions are allowed. “I personally want to see him go early and take the game by the scruff of the neck. He’s been a fantastic player, so I would love to see him being utilized more,” he stated. “The two obvious names Mumbai Indians should retain are Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah. You can also think of Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, and Kieron Pollard. However, Sharma and Bumrah should be the two biggest retentions as franchises can only keep a couple of players ahead of the mega auction,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.
