The match will be played at the iconic Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata on Saturday 29th April at 3:30 PM IST. Team Preview Kolkata Knight Riders: have played eight matches in the tournament so far. They have managed to win three of these matches and are currently at number seven in the points table. After a relatively good start in the tournament KKR lost their way as they lost four matches on the bounce. But they have returned back to winning ways with a victory against RCB in the last match. The 'Purple Army' will be looking to ride on the winning momentum that they have and win against GT on their home turf picking up two valuable points. Mentionable in the last meeting with GT Rinku Singh pulled off an improbable heist for the team hitting five sixes in the last over to take them across the line. Nitish Rana and company will be keen to repeat the antics in this match also. Team Preview Gujarat Titans: The defending champions have been consistent in their campaign this year. They have played seven matches in the tournament and managed to win five. Currently they are at number two in the points table and will be looking to maintain their position in the top half of the table with a win in this match. Hardik Pandya and his men will be mindful of the way they lost the match this time. They will try and avoid any late slip in this match and pick up two important points. In their last match against Mumbai Indians the Titans practically batted their opponents out of the match. They posted a stellar total of 207 runs on the board while batting first and then restricted the five-time champions to 152 for 9 in 20 overs. They will look to maintain this momentum and pick up another win on the bounce. Kolkata Knight Riders Shardul Thakur bowled an extended spell and also batted during practice before the game in Bengaluru but did not play the game as he was still recovering from a niggle. and is likely to replace Vaibhav Arora unless KKR opt to leave out Umesh who has been bagged only one wicket and has an economy of close to 10. Tactics & match-ups: Shardul could prove an effective option against Shubman Gill having dismissed him twice and conceding only 36 runs off 32 balls against the GT opener. Narine has dismissed Wriddhiman Saha four times and could be used early by KKR when they are bowling. Gujarat Titans: The Hardik Pandya-led team are likely to stick to the same combination that won them the last two matches. Tactics & match-ups: Andre Russell averages only 3.67 against Rashid Khan with a strike rate of 61.11 and has been dismissed three times by the Afghanistan legspinner. GT are likely to focus on this match-up and turn to Pandya who has dismissed Nitish Rana twice. The two hitters for the host took them beyond the 200-run mark and they will be silently confident of their chances in this game. David Miller and Rahul Tewatia have shown why they are the best finishers in the Indian T20 League! Gujarat have finished strong as they put on 70 runs in the last four overs and have 207 runs on the board which they will be mightily pleased with. Mumbai's death bowling woes continued as they were unable to wrap up the good effort they put in for the first 16 overs. Arjun Tendulkar and Jason Behrendorff bowled with discipline with the former drawing first blood. The spinners controlled the middle overs well with Piyush Chawla taking two crucial wickets and Kumar Kartikeya dismissing the dangerous-looking Shubman Gill. Bangs in a quick bumper and gets it right around the helmet. Cameron Green looks to take it on but almost gets taken out. Wriddhiman Saha fails to get a hand on it and the ball runs away into the fence. In this IPL Mohammed Shami has bowled 70 dots in the first six overs which is the most by a bowler. Gets one away and that will help Ishan Kishan boost his confidence. Short of a length around middle and leg Kishan picks it up and short-arm jabs it over mid-wicket for a boundary. Mumbai Indians are struggling in the run chase of 208. They have lost Rohit Sharma very early to Hardik Pandya and have just 29 runs in six overs. Both Shami and Pandya bowled magnificently and kept the batters on bay. Green is trying to smash them but Kishan is unable to put proper bat on the ball. Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill looked to be forming a gritty stand but the former was run out and Gujarat looked in trouble. The skipper then walked in and played flamboyantly and Gill too found his groove. Pandya fell looking to keep up the ante and Gill too couldn't stay on for much longer. It was then some big hitting from Abhinav Manohar and David Miller in the death overs that really fired Gujarat to a total that they will feel is a good one.
