Dallas Mavericks Rumors & News: Luka Doncic Injury, Seth Curry Hurt, Playoff Odds, MKG & WCS Updates

The Dallas Mavericks are on track to end their playoff drought once and for all this season, but Luka Doncic has had multiple injury scares throughout the season, and his latest one may be the most concerning. Luka Doncic is reportedly dealing with a right wrist sprain, which is surprising since the injury was the thumb sprain he suffered on his left hand. Doncic was diagnosed with the wrist sprain prior to the Mavericks’ game against the San Antonio Spurs, but the top-five MVP candidate opted to play through the injury anyway. Carlisle thinks the wrist may bother him more than he will let on, but Luka Doncic is determined to play through the minor bumps and bruises in order to will his team to a playoff berth. Click to subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/ChatSportsTV?sub_confirmation=1 Seth Curry has been one of the best offensive players for the Dallas Mavericks since after the All-Star break, but he suffered an ankle injury prior to the Mavs’ game against the Indiana Pacers. Seth Curry, who is having a career year from three, did not travel with the team to San Antonio as the Mavs took on the Spurs. Seth Curry has stepped into a starting role since Dwight Powell suffered a torn achilles earlier in the season. The Mavs have played more small ball, which has hurt them a bit overall, but has improved their offense and Seth Curry’s production as a whole. Two of the newest Dallas Mavericks were forced to miss the Mavericks’ game against the San Antonio Spurs with an unknown illness. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was acquired via signing after he was bought out by the Charlotte Hornets, but he missed last night’s game and did not travel with the team due to the illness. Willie Cauley-Stein has just returned from his absence from the team, but he was a late scratch from the Mavericks’ game against the Spurs with a similar bug. As mentioned before, the Mavericks are expected to make the NBA playoffs for the first time in a long time, but who they will face is still up in the air. Assuming the Mavericks land in the seventh spot, the Mavs will face whatever team locks into the second seed. Right now, it is Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers, which might be the Mavericks’ worst-case scenario due to their lack of defensive wings. The other team that has a good shot at the second seed is the Denver Nuggets. Dallas has played well against the Nuggets this season, so playing Nikola Jokic and Denver would be much preferred to the superteam that is the Clippers.
