The team systematically traded away seasoned veterans in exchange for draft assets, with the hope of accumulating high-quality players to form the foundation of a future dynasty. During this period, the Sixers faced the challenge of making the right draft selections. While they had some notable misses, such as Nerlens Noel, Michael Carter-Williams, Jahlil Okafor, Markelle Fultz, and Zhaire Smith, there were also players like CJ McCollum, Jayson Tatum, Mikal Bridges, Zach Lavine and Giannis Antetokounmpo available who could have been better choices.
