Series NOT OVER | Hapoel - Real Madrid | EuroLeague Basketball PLAYOFFS Hapoel dominated the second half to down Real Madrid 76-69, keeping the series alive and forcing Game 4 on Thursday. Real started strong with a 0-7 opening salvo, before two scores apiece from Vasilije Micic and Elijah Bryant ignited Hapoel. A flurry of triples gave Real an 18-21 lead at the end of the first, and defensive dominance saw the Spanish team stretch the margin to double digits. Hapoel launched an 11-0 run to briefly take the lead, but Mario Hezonja’s three made it 34-36 at the break. The host took control with a 16-0 run midway through the third quarter, and it was 55-46 with ten minutes remaining. Real battled back to 61-60, but Hapoel’s defense held firm to seal a valuable victory. All-EuroLeague star Bryant inspired Hapoel with 19 points and 9 rebounds, supported by Chris Jones with 19 points and 7 boards. Micic added 13 points, while Kessler Edwards epitomized his team’s physicality with 10 rebounds. Trey Lyles led Real’s scoring with 14 points, with Gaby Deck scoring 11 and Facu Campazzo adding 10. The Spanish team paid the price for converting only 46.7% of its free throws (7-of-15), while Hapoel’s rebounding dominance (44 vs 33) proved crucial. John Chayka Under FIRE on Day 1 with Maple Leafs | Daily Faceoff Live

Welcome to Daily Faceoff Live! We start with Game 1 of the Ducks / Vegas series. We break down the controversial non-call that has fans and players questioning consistency in NHL officiating — and why moments like this aren’t reviewable when everything else seems to be. From there, we dive into a massive playoff storyline: did the Philadelphia Flyers prove they can hang with the Carolina Hurricanes, or did they blow a golden opportunity? We also unpack what makes Carolina one of the toughest teams in the NHL to generate offense against. We also react to the latest comments from Steve Simmons and why it feels like more “business speak” than real answers, plus a bigger-picture discussion on John Chayka and the risk of forcing a big move to rebuild his reputation. Then it’s time for some game previews and betting angles: Colorado Avalanche vs Minnesota Wild — was Game 1’s goal explosion bad goaltending or elite offense? Cale Makar vs Quinn Hughes — how each team is trying to slow down their superstar defensemen Which goalie needs a bounce-back performance the most? This episode is packed with NHL playoff analysis, controversy, and bold takes you won’t hear anywhere else. 00:00 - Intro 09:30 - Vegas Take Game 1 14:15 - The Spicy Presser 16:00 - Over / Under 20:30 - The Film Room: Steve Peters 29:30 AskDFO 32:30 Daily Bets 33:30 - Garbage Time #NHL #StanleyCupPlayoffs #Flyers #Canadiens #GoldenKnights #Hockey #NHLPlayoffs #StanleyCup #Chayka #Hurricanes #Highlights SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!! 👍🏼Powered by @bet365 | Hockey fans - Check out bet-three-six-five’s 3-Goal Early Payout. OT WINNER TAYLOR HALL #nhl #fyp

The NHL’s division system has always played a huge role in shaping how the playoffs unfold, and it quietly decides how difficult a team’s path really is. Teams spend the entire regular season battling within their own division, building rivalries and getting used to the same opponents. When the playoffs start, those same matchups carry over into the first rounds. On paper it creates intensity and familiarity, but in reality it can create completely different levels of difficulty depending on where a team is placed. Some divisions are loaded from top to bottom, forcing teams to survive constant heavy matchups just to advance, while others give a bit more room to operate. That is where the conversation starts to get heated. When a team like the Carolina Hurricanes falls behind 2 to 0 and still manages to come back without it ever feeling out of reach, people begin to question how tough the road actually is. In some divisions, going down like that means the series is basically over because the competition punishes every mistake. In others, there is more margin for error, and that changes how these games feel. It is not just about how good a team is, it is about the environment they are playing in and the level of pressure they are facing every shift. Because of that, the division format ends up driving narratives just as much as it creates matchups. A comeback in one division is seen as grit and resilience, while the exact same comeback somewhere else can get brushed off as expected or even lucky. Fans notice those differences, and it fuels debates about which teams are truly being tested and which ones are benefiting from the structure. The system guarantees rivalries and drama, but it also guarantees that not every playoff path is equal, and that is why moments like this always turn into bigger conversations than just one game. #nhlplayoffs #OTWINNER #hockey#nhlhighlights

February 4, 1977-New York Nets vs. Philadelphia 76ers (WMCA Radio)

As part of paying tribute to John Sterling on his passing, I wanted to upload something from the earlier part of his career that hasn't been represented on my channel until now, and that was his tenure as the voice of the New York/New Jersey Nets from 1975 to 1980. I unfortunately still have not come across his call of the Nets second ABA title in 1976, and the only two Nets broadcasts I have are from their first season in the NBA (and their last on Long Island) when they plummeted to a last place team, largely because they had been forced to sell Julius Erving to pay off the penalties stemming from the merger. This game sees them playing the Sixers at the Spectrum where Dr. J is about to take his new team to the NBA Finals that year. John calls the game on WMCA Radio with Mike DiTomasso.
