Nýliðar KA mættu Íslandsmeisturum FH á Kaplakrikavelli þann 8. maí 2017 í 2. umferð Pepsi deildar karla. Bæði lið höfðu unnið góða sigra í opnunarleik sínum og þrátt fyrir að KA væri nýliði í deildinni léku bæði lið til sigurs. KA hóf leikinn betur og Hallgrímur Mar Steingrímsson skoraði stórglæsilegt mark beint úr aukaspyrnu á 22. mínútu. En FH-ingar komu sterkir til baka og Steven Lennon jafnaði á 36. mínútu og var því jafnt 1-1 þegar flautað var til hálfleiks. Heimamenn náðu svo forystunni þegar Kristján Flóki Finnbogason skoraði með skalla á 60. mínútu. KA-menn hinsvegar komu til baka og pressuðu Íslandsmeistarana stíft síðustu mínúturnar og það var á lokasekúndum leiksins þegar Ásgeir Sigurgeirsson jafnaði metin í 2-2 og jafntefli niðurstaðan. The visitors entered the contest on the back of a five-match winning run, which included a 2-0 triumph over Netherlands last month, and held their own against their opponents, for whom stars such as Eden Hazard, Marouane Fellaini and Adnan Januzaj started. Despite Belgium, who have four points from their opening two European Championship qualifiers, taking a 10th-minute lead through Nicolas Lombaerts, they were pegged back almost straight away by Alfred Finnbogason. But second-half substitutes Origi and Everton striker Lukaku struck in the 62nd and 73rd minutes to end the resolve of Iceland, who top their Euro 2016 qualifying group after three straight wins. They will be looking to move on to 12 points in Group A when they travel to the Czech Republic on Sunday, when Belgium will be looking to topple Wales in Group B.
