Caduta anche per la Maglia Azzurra Joseph Dombrowski (UAE Team Emirates) che è però riuscito a concludere la tappa. Alessandro De Marchi (Israel Start-Up Nation) conserva la Maglia Rosa di leader della classifica generale. CALEB EWAN WINS STAGE 5 OF THE GIRO D’ITALIA ALESSANDRO DE MARCHI RETAINS THE MAGLIA ROSA Caleb Ewan (Lotto Soudal) has won Stage 5 of the 104th Giro d'Italia, 177km from Modena to Cattolica. Giacomo Nizzolo (Team Qhubeka Assos) and Elia Viviani (Cofidis) finished second and third, respectively. Mikel Landa (Bahrain Victorious) crashed out of the Giro d’Italia during the final kilometers of the stage. The Maglia Azzurra Joe Dombrowski (UAE Team Emirates) was also involved in a crash but he was able to finish the stage. Alessandro De Marchi (Israel Start-Up Nation) retains the Maglia Rosa and leads the General Classification.

What’s contributed to the Detroit Tigers Tailspin this Season?
As this forgettable, lost and painful season draws to a close for the Detroit Tigers one thing has become abundantly clear. They’ve officially waved the white flag of surrender and any last minute hope of making the postseason for a fifth consecutive year is a distant afterthought now. After starting the season red hot at 11-2 and then 27-12 the Tigers have taken a nose dive in the standings with a record of 60-70. A staggering 20 games back in a division they’ve dominated for the last four seasons and 10 games below the breakeven point of .500, what has led to this tailspin? Brad Ausmus won the AL Central in his first year and then got the Tigers off to a solid start this year. However, with the current state of the team firmly out of the playoffs and plenty of missteps in his first two years on the job will the Tigers retain Ausmus at the end of the year? There has also been a changing of the guard at the top of the organization. Dave Dombrowski is out. Al Avila is in as the new General Manager of the Tigers. With that said, what will be some of the biggest changes we will see under Avila? Was it a mistake to get rid of Dombrowski? At The trade deadline the Tigers made the decision to ship David Price to Toronto, Yoenis Cespedes to the Mets and their closer to Pittsburgh. With that in mind, will Detroit’s wheeling and dealing pay off as they look to retool, and get back into contention next year? Justin Verlander recently fell three outs short of his 3rd no-hitter for his career. If the Tigers are going to rebound next season they have to get a better performance from Verlander and the rest of their starting pitchers. When assessing the state of the Tigers pitching staff where do you think they can get better along with Verlander’s future? Where should be Detroit’s biggest area of improvement this offseason?
