Breaking News | Washington Nationals’ lineup for finale with Baltimore Orioles in OPACY: Juan Soto leads off vs O’s... BALTIMORE, MD: Juan Soto lined an 0-1 changeup from Dylan Bundy to right for his first hit of the night on Tuesday, sent a first-pitch fastball to center the second time up against the Orioles right-hander, and hit a first-pitch fastball to right in the sixth for his third hit in three at bats, so, not surprisingly, Baltimore’s manager, Buck Showalter, decided to walk Washington’s 19-year-old outfielder with a runner in scoring position at second and first base open in the eighth. Baltimore Orioles right-handed pitcher Nick Jobst throws in a March 21, 2018 minor league spring training game vs the Minnesota Twins. +++ Baltimore Orioles right-handed pitching prospect Nick Jobst throws for the Orioles' High-A spring squad during a March 21, 2018 minor league spring training game against the Minnesota Twins' High-A spring squad on the road at the minor league backfields behind CenturyLink Sports Complex and Hammond Stadium Fort Myers, Florida. A 6'2", 260-lb. 15th round MLB Draft pick back in 2016 by the Baltimore Orioles, Nick Jobst split the 2017 season between short-season Aberdeen of the New York-Penn League, and Low-A Delmarva of the South Atlantic League, finishing 2-2 with a 3.86 ERA in 18.2 innings pitched over 20 relief appearances. In that span, Nick Jobst allowed 16 hits and 10 walks, while striking out 22 batters and holding opponents to a .232 opponents' batting average. In this video, you can watch Nick Jobst work an inning in relief for the Baltimore Orioles' High-A squad in minor league spring training, during which he sat 90-94 mph with his fastball, and paired it with a 79-82 mph slider, and an 83-85 mph changeup, all of which you can see on display in the video here. We cover minor league prospects all across the country and all year round, from spring training through the full summer season and on into fall instructional leagues and the Arizona Fall League in October and November. In our first calendar year alone, Baseball Census published videos of more than 1,500 minor league prospects at all levels — from Triple-A to rookie leagues — and all leagues and locations — from the International League to the Arizona League. We’re increasingly focused on publishing prospect video of amateur (high school, junior college, college) baseball prospects ahead of the MLB Draft, as well. All of our videos are shot in pristine 1080p high definition and edited professionally, which consistently gives us the best and highest-quality videos that are publicly available anywhere. Furthermore, we’re on-location covering more than 200 games every year, which allows us to publish deeper, longer, and more insightful scouting videos than the short and poorly-shot clips one typically finds on YouTube. We publish between three and eight new baseball prospect videos every single day of the year — far more than any other outlet covering baseball prospects — and we’re proud to have produced 750,000 views and over 20,000 hours of watch time in just our first calendar year on YouTube. By the end of 2018, we’ll have published videos of nearly 4,000 different prospects from all 30 Major League organizations and a handful of amateur schools and teams. Baltimore Orioles right-handed pitcher Lucas Humpal throws in a March 21, 2018 minor league spring training game vs the Minnesota Twins. +++ Baltimore Orioles right-handed pitching prospect Lucas Humpal throws for the Orioles' High-A spring squad during a March 21, 2018 minor league spring training game against the Minnesota Twins' High-A spring squad on the minor league backfields on the road at CenturyLink Sports Complex in Fort Myers, Florida. A 6'3", 180-lb. right-handed pitcher selected in the ninth round of the 2016 MLB Draft out of Texas State University, Lucas Humpal is a hard thrower who seems destined for bullpen work on account of his power profile, his hard-hard breaking ball look, and his lack of mechanical consistency and command profile that should all collectively point him towards high-leverage relief innings in his pro future. In this video, you can see him Lucas Humpal work parts of three innings as a starting pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles during minor league spring training, where he sat 89-94 mph with his fastball (86-91 mph from the stretch), 80-82 mph with his changeup, 79-83 mph with his slider, and 74-77 mph with his curveball, all of which you can see along with a few slow-motion clips and a good look at his arm action and pitching mechanics during 2018 spring training in Fort Myers. Zach Lewis, RHP, Chicago White Sox — August 10, 2017 — AZL White Sox (rookie level Arizona League) Chicago White Sox right-handed pitching prospect Zach Lewis throws for the AZL White Sox during an August 10, 2017 Arizona League (rookie level) game against the AZL Brewers (Milwaukee Brewers) at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona. An undrafted free agent signed by the Chicago White Sox this summer, Lewis sits 88-91 mph with his fastball, and pairs it with an 82-83 mph changeup, and a 75-79 mph curveball, with good feel for both of his off-speed pitches. In this particular outing we captured on video, Lewis went six full innings, allowing two runs and masterfully keeping Brewers hitters off balance with a shrewd understanding of how and when to change speeds. +++ For more Chicago White Sox baseball news, visit their team database page and organizational roster on Baseball Census: http://BaseballCensus.com/ChicagoWhiteSox Do you want daily features, news, interviews, scouting reports, and videos of baseball’s best young talent and quick-rising minor league stars? Brendan Rodgers, SS, Colorado Rockies vs. Gerardo Reyes, RHP, San Diego Padres — June 12, 2017 — Lancaster JetHawks vs. Lake Elsinore Storm (High-A California League) San Diego Padres right-handed pitching prospect Gerardo Reyes, pitching for the Lake Elsinore Storm, faces off against Colorado Rockies shortstop Brendan Rodgers, playing for the Lancaster JetHawks, during a June 12, 2017 California League (High-A) game at The Hangar in Lancaster, California. For more on Brendan Rodgers, including pictures, GIFs, interviews, scouting reports, and exclusive content, visit his Baseball Census player profile page: http://BaseballCensus.com/BrendanRodgers One of baseball's top young prospects, the Colorado Rockies promoted Brendan Rodgers to Double-A Hartford not long after this game. His barrel skills are impressive with power to boot, and it shouldn't be long before Rodgers is having an extremely significant impact on the Major Leagues up in Denver. For more on Gerardo Reyes, including pictures, GIFs, interviews, scouting reports, and exclusive content, visit his Baseball Census player profile page: http://BaseballCensus.com/GerardoReyes A Mexican-born hurler who played his college ball at Galveston College in south Texas, Gerardo Reyes initially signed with the Tampa Bay Rays as an undrafted free agent in 2013 before eventually being traded to the San Diego Padres as part of the Wil Myers deal in December of 2014. Now, he's a back-end bullpen arm with deception and velocity all coming from a very funky, unique arm slot. He sits 92-96 mph with his fastball, touching as high as 97 mph, and he'll pair it with a 76-81 mph slider, and changeup that works from 87-89 mph. +++ For more Colorado Rockies baseball news, visit their team database page and organizational roster on Baseball Census: http://BaseballCensus.com/ColoradoRockies For more San Diego Padres baseball news, visit their team database page and organizational roster on Baseball Census: http://BaseballCensus.com/SanDiegoPadres Want daily features, news, interviews, scouting reports, and videos of baseball’s best young talent and quick-rising minor league stars?
