Montero Took Over ATHENS | Panathinaikos - Valencia | EuroLeague Basketball PLAYOFFS Valencia forced Game 5 by grabbing an 86-89 victory over Panathinaikos on Friday night at Telekom Center Athens. Despite losing both the first two games at home, the Spanish side bounced back with two straight wins in Greece to bring the playoff series back to Valencia. Following a morale-boosting victory in Game 3, the visitors hit the ground running, with Jean Montero netting 10 first-quarter points for a 15-26 lead after 10 minutes. Valencia maintained a double-digit advantage until the closing stages of the second quarter, when Cedi Osman bagged 10 straight points that cut the deficit to 37-44 at halftime and shifted the momentum. A tight third quarter saw both defenses up their game before Nunn took over with 8 points in a row for Panathinaikos’s first lead in the last two games, 51-50. Yet, Valencia fought back and took a 56-60 edge into the fourth, where the two teams engaged in a trade of blows that saw the hosts struggle to find their range from deep and the guests protect a narrow advantage to seal a third consecutive victory in Athens this season. Montero pulled off an extraordinary outing, recording 29 points, 7 rebounds, as many assists and 4 steals. Osman paced Panathinaikos with 26 points and Nunn added 19 in a losing effort. Press Release Courtesy of Nebraska Athletics- Matchups have been announced for the Players Era Showcase in Las Vegas this summer. The Nebraska volleyball program will play in the first-ever Players Era Volleyball Showcase in Las Vegas this August to officially begin the regular season. The two-day event will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29 and Sunday, Aug. 30 at T-Mobile Arena. The Huskers will face UNLV on Aug. 29 and Texas on Aug. 30. Start times, TV and ticket information will be announced at a later date. TCU is also among the four teams in the event, and doubleheaders will be played both days. “Playing in the first volleyball Players Era event is an exciting opportunity for our program," Head Coach Dani Busboom Kelly said. "Nebraska wants to be at the forefront of new events and opportunities for our players and our sport. Having the opportunity to face our long-standing rival, Texas, is the icing on the cake. Not only will Vegas be an amazing location to start our season, playing UNLV and Texas will set a tone from the beginning. We want to thank MGM and the Players Era for believing in volleyball and Nebraska to make this event possible.” Nebraska and UNLV have never played in volleyball. The Huskers are 33-25 all-time against Texas. The teams haven't played since the 2023 NCAA Championship match in Tampa, Fla., which Texas won 3-0. The last meeting between Nebraska and Texas during the regular season was Aug. 27, 2016, a 3-0 Husker victory at the VERT Challenge in Eugene, Ore. At the time, the Huskers were ranked No. 1 and the Longhorns were ranked No. 2 in that rematch of the 2015 NCAA Championship. BE THE FIRST TO COMMENT Players Era, a subsidiary of EverWonder Studio, was founded in 2024 to create a more equitable model for college sports that centers around valuing the players and expanding global fandom through the creation of first-of-their-kind world-class events. Players Era debuted with the 2024 Players Era Festival, which delivered a week-long celebration of college basketball – featuring exciting games and groundbreaking NIL activities for participating teams. Continuing its rapid expansion, in 2025 the annual showcase evolved into an 18-team Players Era Men’s Championship and the inaugural Players Era Women’s Championship, with both tournaments featuring the eventual national championship winning team. #HuskerVB #GBR #NebraskaVolleyball #bergenreilly #Harpermurray #andijackson #danibusboomkelly #huskervolleyball #HuskerSports #nebraska

2003 NBA Playoff Second Round Semifinals Game 1 May 6, 2003🔥 Sacramento Kings vs Dallas Mavericks (Full Game Highlights) 🔥 🏀 Final Score: Kings 124, Mavs 113 📍 American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas 🏀 Game Highlights: The 2003 Western Conference Semifinals opened with two elite Western teams going head-to-head in Dallas. Sacramento came out hot behind Chris Webber’s all-around play and Peja Stojaković’s scoring, building control early and holding off a late Mavericks push. Dallas got balanced scoring from Steve Nash, Michael Finley, Nick Van Exel, and Dirk Nowitzki, but the Kings’ offense was too sharp in a 124-113 Game 1 road win. ⭐ Star Performances: • Chris Webber — 24 PTS, 6 REB, 9 AST • Peja Stojaković — 26 PTS, 9 REB • Vlade Divac — 14 PTS • Mike Bibby — 7 PTS, 7 AST • Doug Christie — 13 PTS, 9 REB • Dirk Nowitzki — 18 PTS, 11 REB • Steve Nash — 20 PTS, 4 REB, 7 AST • Michael Finley — 20 PTS, 5 REB, 3 AST • Nick Van Exel — 20 PTS, 5 AST 📼 Why This Game Stands Out: This game stands out because it was a matchup between two of the West’s most entertaining offensive teams. The Kings’ passing, spacing, and veteran chemistry were on full display, while the Mavericks countered with Dirk, Nash, Finley, and Van Exel. Sacramento stealing Game 1 on the road set the tone for what became a dramatic seven-game playoff series. 🎯 Perfect For Fans Who Love: • Classic early 2000s NBA playoff basketball • Sacramento Kings ball movement and high-scoring offense • Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash-era Mavericks • Chris Webber and Peja Stojaković highlights • Western Conference playoff rivalries before the modern era #KingsVsMavericks #NBAPlayoffs #ChrisWebber #SacramentoKings #DallasMavericks #PejaStojakovic #DirkNowitzki #SteveNash #MikeBibby #VladeDivac #DougChristie #NickVanExel #MichaelFinley #2003NBAPlayoffs #WesternConferenceSemifinals #ClassicNBA #NBATBT #NBAHighlights #NBAClassicGames #NBAFullGame #NBAHistory 📢 Copyright Disclaimer: All footage belongs to the NBA and its respective copyright holders. Greg Oden was once seen as the future of basketball. In college at Ohio State, he dominated with his size, defense, and leadership, leading his team to the national championship game. Because of this, he was selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, ahead of stars like Kevin Durant. But his story quickly turned from promise to struggle. Oden suffered multiple serious knee injuries that forced him to miss entire seasons. Despite flashes of his talent when he did play, his body could not keep up with the demands of the NBA. In the end, Greg Oden’s career became a story of “what could have been”—a reminder of how injuries can derail even the most talented athletes. Still, he is respected for his perseverance and the effort he gave despite constant setbacks. Disclaimer: The videos are heavily edited and transformed for educational purposes under fair use. The ping pong balls did not go the Winnipeg Jets way. They dropped from the 7th overall pick to the 8th as the Toronto Maple Leafs and the San Jose Sharks were the big winners, moving up to No. 1 and No.2 respectively. Whatever. Good for them. The Jets didn't want to pick there anyway... Joking aside, it presents a list of questions for the Jets -- specifically, how are they going to draft? The prevailing wisdom for this club has to always select the best player available, regardless of position. But is that really what's best for this team right now? Don't they need a center more, even if a blue chip blueliner falls into their lap? That is the discussion that Jim and Cam have to kick off the show, before Assistant Director of Scouting and Head Western Scout for McKeen's Hockey Derek Neumeier joins the show to put everything together. All that and more on the latest edition of 'Jets at Noon'!
