PODCAST: Galaxy outplay Seattle, but Araujo hits a low point

When the LA Galaxy played some of their biggest games and always came up short? Did it feel like that again on Saturday when the Galaxy dominated a Seattle Sounders team but got nothing for it? And did the defense regress back to last year? Is it all too familiar? On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the Galaxy's 3-2 loss of the Seattle Sounders. The guys will start with the basics, but there are some fundamental questions about the defense and why it broke down in three set-piece opportunities. And yes, we're counting the penalty kick as a set-piece breakdown. And while defense is a team game, there's one individual who bears a lot of the brunt of the collapses -- and that's Julian Araujo. He's mentioned in all three goals and can be directly be blamed for the first two. So what's happening to the wonderkid? And is it a bigger problem to worry about or something he can work through? Is the pressure from Mexico, and those huge expectations, finally getting to him? Or has a more talented Araujo just not figured out how to put it all together in the first three games? And should Greg Vanney be looking to change things up and sit Araujo? Plus, the Galaxy's offense is second in shots but much further down the list in goals. While possession is generating the chances, are the Galaxy missing too many good looks at goal. And who needs to put them in the back of the net? Kevin Cabral is undoubtedly someone to focus on. But Chicharito is also an excellent place to look for more. We've got a fun show with a lot of analysis from the Galaxy's loss, so join us for some Galaxy-talk and see what we got right and what we got wrong!
PODCAST: LA Galaxy Ruin Charlotte's Party. Alvarez and defense draw early interest.

And the reason for that hush was Efrain Alvarez. So is this the sign that Alvarez should finally be given the freedom to start? On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the LA Galaxy win over Charlotte FC on Saturday night in front of nearly 75,000 people. But there are other topics to cover. They're going to talk some offense, some defense, and whether or not Julian Araujo is a believer in the darkest of arts. Josh and Kevin will start by applauding the effort and the result from the 1-0 win over Charlotte on Saturday. They're going to talk about Alvarez and his wonder-striker and why it's not like we haven't seen this movie before. Does that mean we need to see him starting? Does the injury to Vazquez put Vanney in a position to reward the 19-year-old? And how does Alvarez's game change when he's a starter? Plus, the Galaxy lead the league in shots and key passes, but they've only seen two goals hit the back of the net in 2022. Are you worried that Chicharito, Cabral, and Costa aren't producing? And how much does Cabral shoulder the blame for the poor finishing? But there's a bigger question about Cabral. Are the Galaxy not finding their Young DP? And the defense has been the standout through 180 minutes. What have Julian Araujo, Raheem Edwards, Nick DePuy, and Sega Coulibaly been able to do this season? And why are they the key to success? Finally, Josh raises questions about Eriq Zavaleta, Sergio Ramos, and Julian Araujo. And then he talks about charts. It's a pretty standard Monday. But the Galaxy could be on their way to club history.

PODCAST: The world is your Pupusa - LA Galaxy outlast NYCFC and get poached by Chicharito

The fact that the LA Galaxy were able to stubbornly outplay New York City FC in the 90th-minute also means something. And the beers flying, the people screaming, and Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez firing up his teammates also means something. It's not all nothing. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the Galaxy's victory over NYCFC, and talk about the individual performances that both impressed and left us answering some questions. The guys will start with the pregame activities that saw them shoveling in the pupusas, leading into their observations of the Galaxy's play. Plus, Josh will get too upset that the Galaxy didn't do a formation lineup -- he doesn't like lists. Raheem Edwards was one of the big stars on the afternoon, which led to one of the best goals from a "poacher" you'll see. But Chicharito didn't just beat Maxime Chanot with his fake; he had a reason behind it. Plus, Kevin will dive into the psyche behind Javier Hernandez's Galaxy transformation. And why the guy who is always smiling and always laughing is taking his stint in LA as seriously as anyone. The guys will also discuss the likely suspension of Julian Araujo and why his time with the Galaxy could be shorter than fans want. If Araujo does get tossed for the next couple of games and then goes off to play for Mexico, will he be missing too much time? Finally, Josh and Kevin dive into the Sergio Ramos rumors and tell you why they're possible. They'll even hint at the game plan for getting him. But is that probable? We've got a packed show that covers many of the angles from Sunday's win. And we're delighted you could join us!
