In Episode 1057, Sean Woodley goes solo to break down the Toronto Raptors' 127-121 loss to Dwane Casey's Detroit Pistons on Saturday night at Scotiabank Arena. Off the top, Sean talks about how the process for the Raptors was about what you'd want to see, as they won the possession battle and had a potent offensive night, even though they were done in by poor free-throw shooting and some incredible Pistons shot-making. Of course, more important the result was Pascal Siakam's 25-12-7 night on 9-of-14 shooting. Sean talks about why that version of Siakam should unlock all sorts of good things for the Raptors, and especially the team's small-ball starting five. Then, Sean talks about Dalano Banton, who followed up a 30-7-9 game for Raptors 905 in the G-League on Friday with 12 points, three boards and two assists for the big club the next night. It's undeniable at this point: Banton should be playing more than he already has been, even if it comes at the expense of Malachi Flynn. Banton rules. Lastly, Sean hands out the Dude of the Game to a guy who just stayed ready while stuck on the sidelines for nearly three weeks, and who should maybe be getting a little more run going forward in the interest of beefing up his trade value. In Episode 1040, Sean Woodley goes solo to run through his key takeaways from the Toronto Raptors' 98-83 loss to the Washington Wizards in the team's first home regular season game in 600 days. Sean opens up with some thoughts on the Raptors' defense, and how it was the reason the game got out of hand in the first half. Can Nick Nurse strike a little more balance with the aggression? Does he even want to? Next, Sean assesses the poor efforts from OG Anunoby (11 points on 3-of-17) and Fred VanVleet (12 points on 5-of-20) and shares why he thinks the night was mostly proof of how bloody important Pascal Siakam is to this team's hopes of having a decent offense. Lastly, Sean talks about the fun parts -- most notable the fourth quarter, which featured a whole lot of Dalano Banton and Scottie Barnes. Really, that's what this season is all about.
