Club La carriera di Niels Klapwijk inizia in formazioni delle categorie minori del campionato olandese come l'Amersfoortse, il Forza Hoogland e il Renswouw. In seguito approda in serie cadetta con lo SSS, prima di essere ingaggiato dal Capelle. Nella stagione 2006-07 entra a far parte del club federale dell'HvA, con cui esordisce in A-League, mentre nella stagione seguente passa al Nesselande, con cui gioca per un triennio, vincendo uno scudetto e una Supercoppa olandese. Ligi, dove resta per due annate; nel 2016 fa inoltre una breve esperienza in Libano col Bouchrieh. Nel campionato 2016-17 passa all'İnegöl, sempre nella massima divisione turca, dove resta per due annate, prima di accasarsi nel campionato 2018-19 all'Afyon, ancora in Efeler Ligi, trasferendosi però nel gennaio 2019 al PAOK, nella Volley League greca, dove conclude l'annata, vincendo la Coppa di Grecia. Nella stagione 2019-20 difende i colori dell'Arcada Galați, nella Divizia A1 rumena, con cui si aggiudica la Supercoppa 2019 e due scudetti. Per il campionato 2021-22 è nuovamente al club di Ravenna, in Superlega. Nazionale Dopo aver partecipato al campionato mondiale Under-19 2003, nel 2006 riceve le prime convocazioni nella nazionale olandese maggiore, con la quale vince la sua prima medaglia in occasione del Memorial Hubert Wagner 2013, dove si aggiudica il bronzo. Yuji Nishida IS BACK !!! His First Match in VNL 2021 ! He is Monster of the Vertical Jump !!! After his injury that happened before the start of the Volleyball Nations League 2021, everyone wondered when Yuji Nishida would back. Finally, after 4 weeks, Yuji Nishida played his first match in the VNL 2021. This 20-year-old monster of the vertical jump again surprised everyone with his jumping skills and power during the spike. On May 1st–2nd, JVA hold "Volleyball Japan National Team International Friendly Match-Tokyo Challenge 2021", preparing for 2020 Summer Olympics which be held in September, Nishida was the starting player of two matches.[25] Japanese team beat China with a set count 3-2 on 8th and 3-1 on 9th.[26][27] On May 8–9th, JVA hold "2021 Volleyball Men's National Team Red and White Match", which is a competing between Japanese national team themselves, Nishida had a name in starting player of the red team on 8th.[28][29] In the early of the first set, Nishida got an injury on his right ankle after landed from blocking, he couldn't walk by himself so the got carried out from the court. After that he went to the hospital, the head coach of the team said that Nishida had taken a roentgen, the result was he had no fractures and was diagnosed with a sprain on the right ankle.
