Förlorade båda benen: Mitt liv är så mycket bättre!

I juli 2016 blev fotbollsspelaren Shaun Whiter påkörd av en person som körde alkoholpåverkad. Skadorna på hans ben var så pass allvarliga att läkarna valde att sätta honom i en koma. När han vaknade var båda benen amputerade. Han fick höra att han aldrig skulle kunna springa eller simma igen. Räddningen kom när Shaun träffade en fysioterapeut och en protesläkare som inte delade den uppfattningen. – De fick mig att tro på mig själv och skapade en plan så jag kunde vara aktiv igen, säger Shaun. Som gammal fotbollsspelare blev målet att kunna springa igen, vilket han lyckades med endast två år efter olyckan. 2021 nådde han en ny milstolpe när han sprang London maraton. Istället för att se det negativa i hans nya livssituation har Shaun vänt det till något positivt och fokuserar på alla nya möjligheter. Bland annat föreläser han om konsekvenserna av att köra alkoholpåverkad och coachar fotbollslag. Shaun har även blivit pappa och säger att hans liv är ”komplett”. – Så mycket positivt kom från det som hände mig att jag inte skulle ändra någonting, säger Shaun. Läs hela artikeln på Expressen.se!
