The grand final was played between Uruguay and Argentina at the legendary Estadio Centenario in front of thousands of passionate fans. Argentina started strongly and event took the lead, but Uruguay responded with courage and attacking football that electrified the stadium. In the end, the Uruguayans completed a remarkable comeback and defeated Argentina 4-2, becoming the first world champions in football history. The victory sparked unforgettable celebrations throughout Montevideo and confirmed Uruguay as a global football powerhouse after already winning Olympic gold medals in 1924 and 1928.
