They chased down a score of over 200 in the last game but this is not Wankhede and it is not that easy to chase here. They still need to back themselves though and let's see how they go about their business against the likes of Arshdeep Singh and Nathan Ellis who are brilliant in the death. Mumbai well they were again very poor in the death overs. They got an early wicket of Prabhsimran Singh in the Powerplay and then their two spinners Piyush Chawla and Kumar Kartikeya bowled well in the middle overs. Chawla got two wickets as well but once he was done with his spell the duo of Jitesh and Livingstone just exploded. Jofra Archer Mumbai's premier bowler was hammered all over the park as he ended with 56 runs in his four overs. Akash Madhwal though showed signs of being a good death bowler but overall it has been another disappointing performance from Mumbai bowlers. The home team Punjab lost Prabhsimran Singh early but Dhawan batted with intent although Matthew Short failed to get going at the other end. Dhawan was outfoxed by Chawla though and Short also could not last longer. However that turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Punjab as Jitesh walked out with his usual swagger. He had Livingstone alongside him and both smashed Mumbai bowlers all over the park with Jofra Archer too not spared. Both of them stayed unbeaten and stitched together a stand of 119 off 53 balls as Livingstone scored 82 off 42 balls and Jitesh Sharma ended with 49 off 27 balls to take Punjab to a mammoth total here. Punjab go into the break with a big smile on their face. Their powerful batting line-up has once again shown its supremacy against a relatively inexperienced Mumbai bowling attack. Absolute carnage in the death overs again and they have smashed 69 runs in the last five overs. They have reached a very good score now and Mumbai would need to bat well to chase down another 200-plus total. Rohit Sharma departs without troubling scorers and Mumbai are off to the worst possible start! Rishi Dhawan bowls this on a length and wide outside the off pole. Rohit Sharma reaches for this and looks to go over the off side field but slices this towards third man. Matthew Short runs along the boundary and takes a well-judged catch to his left. Rishi looks absolutely thrilled with this and so are his teammates. A beauty from Rishi Dhawan and he cuts Cameron Green into half with this in-swinger! This is bowled on a good length and in line with the stumps. Cameron Green pushes at the line of the ball and gets beaten on the inside edge. The ball just misses the leg pole. Green gets his first boundary and that is some power! Arshdeep Singh bowls this full and in line with the stumps. Cameron Green lofts this straight towards long on for four runs. Ishan has timed this nicely! Arshdeep Singh bowls this full and outside the off pole. Ishan cuts this late towards deep backward point for four runs. Good delivery and well-negotiated by Ishan! Arshdeep bowls this back of a length and into the batter form outside off. Ishan Kishan sways back and gets the bat onto the ball. It goes over the short third man fielder for four more runs. Green gets enough bat on this to send it flying to the fence! Curran bowls this short and wide outside the off pole. Green slashes at this hard and gets this off the thickish outside edge towards third man for four runs. When Green hits this ball it stays hit! Curran has been far too short and serves this outside off. Green pulls this towards deep mid-wicket for four runs. IPL 2023 Match 39 Kolkata Knight Riders vs Gujarat Titans Live This Match Will be Played at Eden Gardens Kolkata on 29th April 2023 This Match Will Start at 3.30pm From Indian Standard time. The match will be played at the iconic Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata on Saturday 29th April at 3:30 PM IST. Team Preview Kolkata Knight Riders: have played eight matches in the tournament so far. They have managed to win three of these matches and are currently at number seven in the points table. After a relatively good start in the tournament KKR lost their way as they lost four matches on the bounce. But they have returned back to winning ways with a victory against RCB in the last match. The 'Purple Army' will be looking to ride on the winning momentum that they have and win against GT on their home turf picking up two valuable points. Mentionable in the last meeting with GT Rinku Singh pulled off an improbable heist for the team hitting five sixes in the last over to take them across the line. Nitish Rana and company will be keen to repeat the antics in this match also. Team Preview Gujarat Titans: The defending champions have been consistent in their campaign this year. They have played seven matches in the tournament and managed to win five. Currently they are at number two in the points table and will be looking to maintain their position in the top half of the table with a win in this match. Hardik Pandya and his men will be mindful of the way they lost the match this time. They will try and avoid any late slip in this match and pick up two important points. In their last match against Mumbai Indians the Titans practically batted their opponents out of the match. They posted a stellar total of 207 runs on the board while batting first and then restricted the five-time champions to 152 for 9 in 20 overs. They will look to maintain this momentum and pick up another win on the bounce. Kolkata Knight Riders Shardul Thakur bowled an extended spell and also batted during practice before the game in Bengaluru but did not play the game as he was still recovering from a niggle. and is likely to replace Vaibhav Arora unless KKR opt to leave out Umesh who has been bagged only one wicket and has an economy of close to 10. Tactics & match-ups: Shardul could prove an effective option against Shubman Gill having dismissed him twice and conceding only 36 runs off 32 balls against the GT opener. Narine has dismissed Wriddhiman Saha four times and could be used early by KKR when they are bowling. Gujarat Titans: The Hardik Pandya-led team are likely to stick to the same combination that won them the last two matches. Tactics & match-ups: Andre Russell averages only 3.67 against Rashid Khan with a strike rate of 61.11 and has been dismissed three times by the Afghanistan legspinner. GT are likely to focus on this match-up and turn to Pandya who has dismissed Nitish Rana twice. Did you know: Hardik Pandya has scored 366 runs in 11 innings against KKR averaging 61 with a strike rate of 173.46. He has also picked up 11 wickets against them at an average of 14.45 with an economy of 6.91. Sunil Narine has bowled 1442 dot deliveries in the IPL. He needs 11 more to overtake R Ashwin who is currently in the second spot. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1473) has bowled the most number of dot balls. What to expect: As many as four 200-plus totals have been scored in only six innings at the Eden Gardens so far with 222 being the average first innings total. The team batting first has won each of the three matches but those were all evening games and it remains to be seen if the conditions differ for the afternoon match. And the last two games are more evidence that Dhoni and Co. are back to their best; winning by 7 wickets (SRH) and 47 runs (KKR). So what has clicked? The batting. Gaikwad Conway Rahane and Dube have been among the runs. In fact the resurgence of Rahane has boosted their middle over play as he's striking at close to 200. Tushar Deshpande is another player who has excelled under Dhoni and is the highest wicket-taker in the team while Jadeja has been a bank with the ball. The team is coming together and they're starting to peak at the halfway mark. Other teams better watch out! That’s the end of the innings. A brilliant batting display from the Rajasthan Royals comes to an end as they post a mammoth 202 on the board the highest total on this ground in IPL. The foundation was laid by Yashasvi Jaiswal at the start and cameos from Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel at the back end of the innings have helped them finish with a flourish. The Chennai Super Kings have an uphill task ahead of them. Batting first the Royals got off to a sensational start thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal. The youngster from Mumbai came out all guns blazing and hit some glorious shots up front. He struck at a brisk rate and his opening partner Jos Buttler played the role of a second fiddle. The Royals scored 64 at the end of the powerplay. There was no stopping Jaiswal as he continued playing his strokes after the fielding restrictions. He brought up his fifty off just 26 balls. Ravindra Jadeja broke the 86-run opening stand when he dismissed Buttler on 27. Skipper Sanju Samson departed on a run-a-ball 17 in the 14th over. Tushar Deshpande dismissed Jaiswal on a 43-ball 77 in the same over which helped CSK to get back in the contest. The Super Kings bowled well and the Royals lost Shimron Hetmyer (8) in the 17th over who was promoted up the order. Devdutt Padikkal joined Dhruv Jurel and both played some excellent shots. Both Padikkal (27* off 13 balls) and Jurel (34 off 15 balls) hit some lusty blows at the end to power their side to 202 at the end of their 20 overs. The Super Kings picked up five wickets in total with Deshpande finishing with two. They went on a journey throughout their innings. An odd ball is turning and gripping but the surface looks good for batting. The Super Kings will have to create history tonight as they will be chasing the highest total at this venue. Let's see how they respond. Rajasthan Royals (Playing XI): Jaiswal Jos Buttler Padikkal Sanju Samson(w/c) Shimron Hetmyer Dhruv Jurel Ravichandran Ashwin Holder Adam Zampa Sandeep Sharma Yuzvendra Chahal. Rajasthan Royals Subs: Ferreira Murugan Riyan Parag KM Asif Kuldip Yadav. Chennai Super Kings (Playing XI): Ruturaj Gaikwad Devon Conway Ajinkya Rahane Moeen Ali Shivam Dube Ravindra Jadeja MS Dhoni(w/c) Matheesha Pathirana Tushar Deshpande Maheesh Theekshana Akash Singh. Chennai Super Kings Subs: Rayudu Pretorius Senapati Shaik Rasheed RS Hangargekar. Yashasvi Jaiswal (Rajasthan Royals): "I think it is a good total and we will defend it. It is a good batting wicket. Let's see how we go with the defense. I am trying to get information about all the venues we are playing and look to adapt to the conditions. I always try to play with good confidence. We (Buttler and Jaiswal) will try to keep the tempo going and always at the bowlers. The cutters and slower ones stop on the surface and that is what I know as of now. The new ball is coming nicely onto the bat." Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content. This pitch has been great for teams that have been chasing and the visitors will take confidence from that fact as they look to register an important win. Gujarat have a formidable bowling attack and with the home crowd behind them they will feel confident of defending the total they have put up on the board. Will they get back-to-back wins? Or will the visitors return to winning ways? Gujarat did not get off to the best of starts losing Wriddhiman Saha on a low score but his partner Shubman Gill continued to attack the bowlers. Hardik Pandya hung around for a bit but was dismissed as he looked to accelerate the scoring. Shubman Gill reached a well-constructed half-century but perished soon after and Vijay Shankar followed him back to the shed playing a loose shot. Abhinav Manohar and David Miller got together to put on a 71-run partnership in 35 deliveries as they provided the much-needed impetus towards the end of the inning. The former departed after scoring 41 in 21 deliveries while Miller fell four runs short of his fifty but did the necessary damage with Rahul Tewatia towards the end. The two hitters for the host took them beyond the 200-run mark and they will be silently confident of their chances in this game. David Miller and Rahul Tewatia have shown why they are the best finishers in the Indian T20 League! Gujarat have finished strong as they put on 70 runs in the last four overs and have 207 runs on the board which they will be mightily pleased with. Mumbai's death bowling woes continued as they were unable to wrap up the good effort they put in for the first 16 overs. Arjun Tendulkar and Jason Behrendorff bowled with discipline with the former drawing first blood. The spinners controlled the middle overs well with Piyush Chawla taking two crucial wickets and Kumar Kartikeya dismissing the dangerous-looking Shubman Gill. Cameron Green had an off day as he conceded 39 runs in two overs while Riley Meredith and Jason Behrendorff also went for plenty in their last overs despite taking one wicket each. Captain to captain and Hardik Pandya comes out on top against Rohit Sharma. This is banged in a bit shorter at 144 clicks and angled into the batter. Sharma tries to back away and play at it but gets himself into a real tangle. Sharma ends up half-pulling it but the ball comes off the leading edge and pops straight up. Pandya doesn't have to move much and takes a simple catch. Dream start for Gujarat. Also Cameron Green walks out to bat now. Connects one and gets the maximum result. Pitched up on off stump Cameron Green backs away and thumps it over the long off fence for a biggie. A real sorter from Hardik Pandya but it costs him four runs. Bangs in a quick bumper and gets it right around the helmet. Cameron Green looks to take it on but almost gets taken out. Wriddhiman Saha fails to get a hand on it and the ball runs away into the fence. In this IPL Mohammed Shami has bowled 70 dots in the first six overs which is the most by a bowler. Gets one away and that will help Ishan Kishan boost his confidence. Short of a length around middle and leg Kishan picks it up and short-arm jabs it over mid-wicket for a boundary. Mumbai Indians are struggling in the run chase of 208. They have lost Rohit Sharma very early to Hardik Pandya and have just 29 runs in six overs. Both Shami and Pandya bowled magnificently and kept the batters on bay. Green is trying to smash them but Kishan is unable to put proper bat on the ball. IPL 2023 Match 34 Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Delhi Capitals Live Scores This Match Will be Played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium Hyderabad on 24th April 2023 This Match Will Start at 7.30pm From Indian Standard time. The home team will look to get their campaign back on track while the away side will be desperate for their second win of the season. A poor delivery and rightly punished! Washington Sundar darts this full and down the leg side David Warner goes down and sweeps it over short fine leg for a boundary. Hyderabad have suffered from inconsistency so far. They have had some good moments here and there but haven't managed to get the best out of all the departments at the same time. Aiden Markram will be hoping that his boys put their best foot forward in this one. Harry Brook will be looking to add to his tally of runs but he will need support from others and they need to avoid losing wickets in clumps. They have a good bowling attack with the raw pace of Umran Malik and the swing of Marco Jansen and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Delhi on the other hand finally managed to get their first win of the season in their last game but they almost made a mess of it in the end. However the win should give them a bit more confidence to express themselves on the field. David Warner has consistently scored runs for them without getting any support except from Axar Patel who has been their best all-round player. They will need a lot more from Mitchell Marsh and Prithvi Shaw while Anrich Nortje has been decent in the bowling department along with Kuldeep Yadav. Bhuvneshwar Kumar draws first blood! Salt goes back for a golden duck. Kumar lands this on a hard length and around off shaping away sharply Philip Salt looks to guide it towards third man but only manages to get a thin outside edge towards the keeper where Heinrich Klaasen pouches it safely. There is a muted appeal for the catch as nobody is sure but up goes the finger and the Hyderabad players are delighted. Delhi lose their first wicket! Marsh greets Marco Jansen with a boundary! Jansen begins with a full delivery on leg Marsh stays there and flicks it over mid-wicket for a boundary. Two in two! This is full again but on the pads Marsh glances it towards the fine leg fence for another boundary. Up and over! Jansen lands this on a good length and around off Mitchell Marsh strides forward a bit and slices it over point for the third boundary of the over. Shot of the match so far! Marco Jansen serves this full and on off Mitchell Marsh leans on to his drive and creams it through covers for four more runs. Marsh is finding the middle of the bat here! Believe it or not this is the first six for Warner in this season! Sundar floats this up full and around middle and leg David Warner goes down on his knees again and slog-sweeps it way over the deep square leg fence for a biggie. T Natarajan serves this full and on middle Mitchell Marsh goes for the big drive but his bat turns in his hands when he connects. However luckily for him the ball goes in the air and wide of mid on for a boundary. T Natarajan strikes! He gets the big man Mitchell Marsh! This is a really good review from Hyderabad. T Natarajan bowls this on a good length around middle and leg nips away a bit Mitchell Marsh looks to work it away but misses and gets hit on the pads. There is a huge appeal for LBW but turned down as it looks like pitching down the leg side. However UltraEdge shows that no bat involved and Ball Tracking indicates three reds. Hyderabad players starts celebrating but Marsh will have make that long walk back after a good cameo. Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content. It was exactly two weeks ago that Rinku Singh smashed all those sixes to pull off that unbelievable heist. Since then KKR have lost all their three matches and find themselves close to the bottom with problems in too many departments. And today they welcome a high-flying CSK a team that has traditionally had the edge over them with a 17-9 head-to-head record in the IPL. Kolkata Knight Riders will have to score the season's biggest score to register a difficult win at home against Chennai Super Kings. Magnificent batting performance from all the CSK batters have propelled the yellow army to the season's biggest score so far as they finish at 235/4 against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens. After putting in to bat first by Nitish Rana the openers started with a flash adding 59 runs in the powerplay. Suyash Sharma the new recruit for KKR got the first wicket in the 8th over knocking Ruturaj Gaikwad's off stump as the opener walked back for 35. Ajinkya Rahane joined the already set Devon Conway and started in aggressive fashion hitting all the bowlers all over and also played some unorthodox strokes for boundaries. Devon Conway scored his fifty in 34 balls and was out for 56 to Varun Chakravarthy. CSK crossed 100 in the 11th over when Shivam Dube (50 off 21) walked in at number 4 and continued where Conway left off hitting 5 big sixes and 2 fours bringing up his 50 in 20 balls. Rahane and Dube the Mumbai boys added 85 runs for the third wicket when Dube perished in the 18th over to Kulwant Khejroliya. Ravindra Jadeja also scored quickly in his 8-ball 18-run cameo to push CSK past 200. Khejroliya chipped with Jadeja's wicket in the final over bringing MS Dhoni out int he middle who remained unbeaten to take the score to 235/4. Ajinkya Rahane was unbeaten at 71 in just 29 balls hitting 6 fours and 5 sixes in his innings. A total of 18 sixes were hit in the innings. Suyash Sharma (1/29) was the most economical of the lot with Kulwant getting 2 wickets for 49 runs. No other bowler had an economy of under 11 for the Knight Riders. An exciting second innings await us as KKR face an uphill task of getting the biggest score of the season. Kolkata Knight Riders (Playing XI): N Jagadeesan(w) Jason Roy Nitish Rana(c) Andre Russell Rinku Singh Sunil Narine David Wiese Kulwant Khejroliya Suyash Sharma Umesh Yadav Varun Chakaravarthy. Kolkata Knight Riders subs: Mandeep Singh Anukul Roy Vaibhav Arora Litton Das Venkatesh Iyer. Chennai Super Kings (Playing XI): Ruturaj Gaikwad Devon Conway Ajinkya Rahane Moeen Ali Ambati Rayudu Shivam Dube Ravindra Jadeja MS Dhoni(w/c) Matheesha Pathirana Tushar Deshpande Maheesh Theekshana. Chennai Super Kings subs: Akash Singh Dwaine Pretorius Subhranshu Senapati Shaik Rasheed RS Hangargekar. Shivam Dube (Chennai Super Kings): "Yes definitely. I am enjoying hitting sixes and loving it. Definitely my role is to take on the bowlers and up the ante and glad I did it. I have played them in the past and struggled. I planned it well and paid off in the end. Playing with Rahane helps as he rotates the strike and helps me keep the shape. Definitely I think it's a good score. If we bowl well we should be able to defend this total." The MSD-led Chennai Super Kings have won three out of their five games so far and are playing well as a unit. They have a strong batting line-up and both of their openers have played some sparkling knocks with middle-order chipping in with valuable contributions too. However the most pleasing aspect for Dhoni and CSK fans would be the way their young bowling attack is improving with each passing game and we can expect CSK to put another strong performance on their home turf. Sunrisers Hyderabad on the other hand are a quality unit. They have some of the most talented young batters like Harry Brook Rahul Tripathi Aiden Markram in their ranks and have good depth in the bowling department too. However they can be put under pressure against quality spin attack and that is exactly what they need to aware of against CSK at Chepauk. They crumbled in a run-chase against MI in the last game and need to show much more application against MSD and company. Can they spoil CSK's party at Chepauk? Head-to-Head - Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad have faced each other 19 times in IPL before and CSK have a clear advantage over Orange Army with 14 wins. SRH have won only 5 games and would be looking to improve their record this season. What to expect: We have seen plenty of runs in the two games so far at this venue. However the surface used for the RR fixture did take some turn. Chennai Super Kings Team Watch: 24 hours ahead of the game Ben Stokes kept the groundmen on their toes by absolutely smashing it in the nets. He looks ready. But who can he potentially replace now? Devon Conway has been amongst the runs. CSK certainly need Matheesha Pathirana and Maheesh Theekshana. If the wicket is indeed quite flat Moeen Ali might make way. Else CSK could stick with the same combination. Chennai Super Kings Tactics & Matchups: CSK know how dangerous Harry Brook can be. But he has also struggled to score against spin in his maiden IPL season so far. A matchup against Theekshana in the powerplay could work in CSK's favour in order to remove the threat early. Sunrisers Hyderabad Team Watch: The surface might prompt a change or two. The Rajasthan Royals spin trio delivered at this venue in the last game. That might force SRH to go back to Adil Rashid or Akeal Hosein in place of Marco Jansen. Sunrisers Hyderabad Tactics & Matchups: Bhuvneshwar's powers may seem to be on the wane but he has a pretty good record against most of the CSK batters except for Dhoni. Washington's economy rate of 6.33 against left-handers over the last four years will favour the visitors as well against a left-heavy batting lineup. Did you know: - SRH's South African duo of Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen average close to 40 with a strike rate over 140 in T20 cricket since 2022 - Ajinkya Rahane's powerplay strike rate of 222.22 is the best among all batters in this year's IPL (minimum 50 runs) Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content.
