The Minnesota Wild responded in a big way with a 5-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche to win their first round 2 game since the 2015 season. The Wild grabbed the early lead on a goal for Kirill Kaprizov, and followed it with Quinn Hughes' 4th goal of the postseason to make it 2-0 in the 1st. Ryan Hartman added a Power Play goal in the 2nd to make it 3-0, before the Avs added a Power Play goal of their own to make it 3-1. Brock Faber scored 20 seconds later to make it a 3 goal lead once again. The scoring held until late in the 3rd period, when Matt Boldy scored an empty netter to seal the 5-1 win. Jesper Wallstedt was fantastic in net with 34 saves on 35 shots. The story of the night was Ajay Mitchell — 24 points on 58% shooting, 10 assists, 3 steals, a complete two-way performance that nobody saw coming from the second unit. SGA ran the show with 23 points and 9 assists. Holmgren added 18 and 9 rebounds. The OKC bench dropped 44 points combined. For the Lakers, LeBron had 19 points but shot 37% and was -24 for the night. Reaves contributed 17 but turned it over 5 times. Los Angeles committed 17 turnovers and OKC turned those into 30 points. The Thunder outscored the Lakers in three of four quarters and blew the game open in the fourth 41-29.
