Is Ocon Going To Drive For Mercedes In 2022?
Alpine’s Esteban Ocon has had an interesting F1 career so far. At one point, he was even left without a seat in the sport but he is now in his second year with his current team. As a former member of Mercedes’ driver program, he was at one point seen as one of the drivers being groomed to drive for Mercedes in the future. However, that role has now been assumed by Williams’ George Russell. Max Verstappen kwam in Portimão als tweede over de finish en kon na afloop rekenen op wat flinke kritiek van Nico Rosberg. Lewis Hamilton gaf op zijn beurt toe dat hij Verstappen tegen het einde van het seizoen wel eens zat kan worden. Daarnaast deed er de afgelopen dagen een interessant gerucht de ronde, volgens de Britse pers overweegt Mercedes namelijk om George Russell dit seizoen nog op de plek van de Fin te zetten. Lewis Hamilton schlägt zurück: Sieg beim Formel 1 Rennen in Portugal! Aber: Red Bull ist verärgert - Sieg, Pole und schnellste Runde verloren! Und das wegen Track Limits... Der WM-Kampf in der F1-Saison 2021 kocht schon in den ersten Rennen hoch: Lewis Hamilton und Mercedes bauten in Portimao ihre WM-Führungen bei den Fahrern und Konstrukteuren aus. Max Verstappen verlor hingegen selbst den WM-Punkt für die schnellste Rennrunde wegen einer Track-Limit-Überschreitung! Das gleiche Vergehen kostete ihn schon den Sieg in Bahrain und die Pole am Samstag. Für sein Red Bull Racing Team ist es jetzt genug! Christian Horner und Dr. Helmut Marko poltern: Das ist kein Racing mehr! Es muss sich etwas tun! So, genug der vielen Ausrufezeichen. Weiter geht es mit dem Kampf um den Sieg zwischen Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas und Verstappen. Keine Punkte gab es leider für die beiden Deutschen im Feld: Sebastian Vettel fiel nach einem starken Qualifying aus den Top-10 heraus, konnte aber immerhin seinen Teamkollegen Lance Stroll bezwingen. Mick Schumacher glänzte unterdessen mit einem fehlerfreien Rennen und einem Überholmanöver gegen den Williams von Nicholas Latifi. Und dann war da noch der Iceman: Kimi Räikkönens Rennen war schon nach kurzer Zeit vorbei. Ein Auffahrunfall wegen eines Notrufs. Klingt komisch, ist aber bei weitem nicht so seltsam wie die Strafe, die er in Imola erhielt - und die nun nach dem Grand Prix in Portimao endgültig bestätigt wurde.
