Formula 1 appeared to turn into a soap opera that broke off for 90 minutes to let some cars race at the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix at Silverstone, with off-track politics taking centre stage as civil war broke out in the paddock. Renault's protest against Racing Point's 2020 F1 car was successful, with a panel of stewards ruling that the rear brake ducts on the 'Pink Mercedes' were the result of illegal design processes. Racing Point has been fined and had points taken away, but it's still allowed to use the parts... Confused? Don't be. In this video we explain everything that has gone on in this case, why Racing Point's defence didn't work, and why the outcome won't even please the winners of the case.
