This shoe was so fast that Olympic officials had to step in and stop it. Puma built it with a carbon plate and foam that fires energy back into every single stride. So runners were burning less effort while going faster than ever before. And because that extra spring gave athletes such a massive edge, other brands started complaining that it wasn't even a fair race anymore. So sponsors pushed their own teams to find something just as strong before every meet turned into a shoe contest instead of a race. at this point people on the internet were saying the shoes deserve the medal more than the runner does.
