.El 12 de abril de 2006 , el Tau Cerámica de Velimir Perasovic en su primera experiencia como entrenador baskonista, acudió al OAKA con la serie empatada a uno, entonces al mejor de tres partidos.El Panathinaikos de Obradovic se impuso en el primer choque en casa (84-72) y en el Buesa Arena, el Baskonia se impuso por (85-79). En el partido definitivo, el Baskonia sorprendió en un gran partido en el que tuvo la iniciativa y el control del juego durante 30 minutos.En el último cuarto pudo con el empuje de un OAKA a rebosar con más de 18.000 seguidores y un equipo rival plagados de grandes estrellas como Spanoulis, Diamantidis, Batiste, Lakovic…Fue el escolta turco Serkan Erdogan quien guió al Baskonia hacia la victoria (71-74) pero sobre todo a sacar el billete para la Final Four de Praga 2006.
