The Indian football team fought hard before going down to higher-ranked Bahrain 1-2 in an international friendly here on Wednesday. Mid-feilder Mohammed Al-Hardan struck the game's opening goal -- a volley in the 38th minute at the Al Muharraq Stadium. Al-Hardan's strike did not prove to be enough for the home side as the Indian team, seven of whose members could not reach Bahrain with the rest of the squad on Tuesday owing to visa-related issues, hit back in the 59th minute through a Rahul Bheke header.Head coach Igor Stimac's move to introduce Naorem Roshan Singh at the start of the second half proved to be decisive as it was through his assist that India managed to restore parity. However, India's joy was short-lived as Mahdi Humaidan struck the all-important goal in the 88th minute to seal the deal in favour of Bahrain. #sportsinfo #indianfootball #indiavsbaharain #aiff #india #indvsbah #indianfootballmalayalam #heroisl #keralablasters #manjappada #kbfcvshfc #MarkoLeskovic #hfcvsatkmb #hyderabadfc #atkmohunbagan #keralablasters #adrianluna #sahalabdulsamad #manjappada #imvijayan #keralablasters #keralablastersfc #kbfcvsjfc #Jamshedpurfc #imvijayan #fcgoa #mumbaicityfc #shaijudamodaran #adrianluna #kbfc #kbfcvscfc #keralablastersvschennaiyinfc #imvijayan #enessipovic #ivanvukomanovic #jamshedpurfc #adrianluna #bengalurufc #kbfcvsmcfc #jamshedpurfc #atkmohunbagan #kbfcvsmcfc #nishukumar #khabra #adrianluna #sahalabdulsamad #alvarovazquez #blasters #manjappada #yennumyellow #adrianluna #footballmalayalam #footballnews #islmalayalam #islnews #imvijayan Indian football, Indian Football Malayalam, Indian football news, India vs Bahrain, India vs Bahrain live, keralablasters vs hyderabadfc, keralablasters vs hyderabadfc final, hyderabadfc vs atkmohunbagan, hyderabadfc, adrianluna, keralablasters vs Jamshedpurfc, sahalabdulsamad, keralablasters vs Jamshedpurfc, manjappada, Keralablasters vs Jamshedpurfc, kbfc vs jfc, keralablasters, shaijudamodaran, kbfc vs hfc, kbfc vs atkmb, Kerala blasters vs sc eastbengal, kbfc vs sceb, Kerala blasters vs SC East Bengal highlights, enes sipovic goal, kerala blasters, kbfc, kbfc news, isl, isl news, kbfc vs sceb, adrian luna news, Kerala blasters vs ATK bengalurufc, kerala blasters vs Mumbai city FC, Kerala blasters news, ivanvukomanovic press conference, ivanvukomanovic malayalam, blasters vs odishaf highlights, isl highlights, im vijayan, im vijayan on kbfc, fcgoa Malayalam, kbfc vs fcg prediction, Kerala blasters, Kerala blasters FC, kbfc, sahal abdul samad goal, sahal goal, adrian luna, manjappada, yennumyellow, sahal abdul samad, alvarovazquez,Kerala blasters vs Jamshedpurfc, adrian luna, Kerala blasters vs jamshedpurfc highlights, mumbaicityfc troll, isl highlights, hero isl, football news, football Malayalam, isl malayalam, isl news, Adrian Luna, Adrian Luna Malayalam, Adrian Luna post match presentation, luna comment, keralablasters, indianfootball, indianfootball malayalam, football, football news
A penalty save from captain and goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, and Rahul Bheke’s first international goal couldn’t prevent Bahrain beating India 2-1 in an international friendly played at the Sh. Ali Bin Mohamed Stadium in Manama City on Wednesday, 23 March 2022. Goals from Mohqmed Hardan and Mahdi Humaidan in either half sealed it for Bahrain, even as Bheke’s powerful header – his first international goal - had helped India restore parity in the 56th minute. The match saw 5 players making their international debuts. While Head Coach Igor Stimac named VP Suhair and Danish Farooq in the starting line-up, Naorem Roshan Singh, Aniket Jadhav and Anwar Ali came on as second-half substitutes. Earlier in the first-half, a dominant Bahrain were almost off to a perfect start as they earned a penalty in the 6th minute when Mohamed Marhoon’s shot hit Sandesh Jhingan’s hand at the edge of the 18-yard box. But goalkeeper and captain Gurpreet Singh Sandhu anticipated correctly, diving down to his left to palm off Mahdi Humaidan’s penalty. India tried to regroup and in the 10th minute, Liston Colaco intercepted the ball in the midfield and tried to run between his two markers. But the rival midfield was quick to react, and thwart him. Six minutes later, the Bahrain forward line, playing it quick among themselves, broke free but Mahroon’s shot crashed off the bar. The rebound did fall to an unmarked Humaidan but in his haste, he smashed it over. India had their first shot a few minutes later as Manvir Singh did meet Rahim Ali’s cross but the former’s header was off target. India earned their first corner in the 29th minute when Liston, taking down a long ball from Sandesh, sped down the left flank past his marker only for the rival defence to intercept his cross, and clear it for a corner. Two minutes later, Rahim Ali was brought down as India earned a free-kick in the rival half. But both the chances weren’t able to create any impact. The Blue Tigers survived a scare in the 35th minute when Marhoon squared it to Humaidan, who laid it for Komail Alaswad who failed to hit the target. The miss didn’t prove too costly for Bahrain as they surged into the lead the very next minute. Mahroon took his time and floated it into the box for Mohqmed Hardan to volley it in, as the hosts headed into the interval with a solitary goal lead. Changing over, Stimac brought in debutant Roshan Singh in place of Liston Colaco, and he almost scored with his first touch in international football as he tried to meet Rahim’s cross on the half-volley. The second substitution came in the 56th minute – Anirudh Thapa replacing Suhair. India earned a corner almost immediately, and it brought their equaliser. The corner was played short, and Roshan floated it viciously behind the rival defence and the goalkeeper for Rahul Bheke to head home powerfully – his first goal in international football. With India having started off the blocks faster in the second-half, Bahrain in their attempt to pull it back played an aerial ball to Humaidan inside the box. But even as he tried to meet it, the ball stayed out of his reach. A double substitution came in the 79th minute – Yasir Mohammad, and Aniket Jadhav coming in for Danish and Rahim respectively. The match-winner came as late as the 88th minute -- Humaidan making amends for his penalty miss to win it for Bahrain when he ran onto a cross from the right to put it in. India next play Belarus in another international friendly on March 26. INDIA: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu (captain); Pritam Kotal (Anwar Ali – 90+3 – international debut), Rahul Bheke, Sandesh Jhingan, Subhasish Bose; Manvir Singh, Danish Farooq (international debut) (Yasir Mohammad – 79th), Pronay Halder, VP Suhair (international debut) (Anirudh Thapa – 56th), Liston Colaco (Roshan Singh – 46th – international debut), Rahim Ali (Aniket Jadhav – 79th). cc - AIFF MEDIA Video cc - Bharain tv
NorthEast United played a 1-1 draw in their final league game of the season against fellow strugglers SC East Bengal in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Tilak Maidan Stadium. Goals from Marco Sahanek and Antonio Perosevic managed to split the points either way as Khalid Jamil’s men ended the season with only three wins. As for SC East Bengal, their winless run extended to seven matches. Marco Sahanek (45+1’) scored his first goal for NEUFC to give them the lead in the first half but the equaliser came through Antonio Perosevic (55’ P) who scored from a precise penalty. Two good chances fell SCEB’s way in the early stages with Lalrinliana Hnamte making the goalkeeper pull off a good save and Mahesh Naorem Singh hitting the crossbar from long-range. NEUFC survived another scare after the half-hour mark as a volley by Antonio Perosevic missed the target by a whisker. However, it was the Highlanders that took the lead just a minute before the halftime whistle. A header from Deshorn Brown hit the left post and fell kindly to Marco Sahanek who made no mistake and buried his left-footed shot into the bottom-right corner. Thanks to that goal, NEUFC went into the break with their noses in front. The second half did not begin according to plan for Khalid Jamil and co as Patrick Flottmann’s push on Fran Sota during an aerial battle was deemed as a foul in the box, leading to a penalty. Perosevic scored the equaliser from the penalty spot, after sending Mirshad Michu towards the wrong way. Marcelinho came off the bench for NEUFC to inject some energy in the final third and combined with Suhair but the latter’s volley was expertly punched away by Sankar Roy in goal. Four minutes were added for stoppages but neither team had the cutting edge to score the winner in the end. With nothing to separate the teams, the game ended in a draw, much to the disappointment for both sets of players. SC East Bengal will pull the curtains on their ISL season by playing Bengaluru FC at the Tilak Maidan Stadium on Saturday while NorthEast United’s campaign has come to an end. #HeroISL #LetsFootball #IndianSuperLeague 🔊 LIKE ➡ SHARE ➡ SUBSCRIBE For More Updates: English: https://newsable.asianetnews.com/ Hindi: https://hindi.asianetnews.com/ Malayalam: https://www.asianetnews.com/ Kannada: https://kannada.asianetnews.com/ Tamil: https://tamil.asianetnews.com/ Telugu: https://telugu.asianetnews.com/ Bengali: https://bangla.asianetnews.com/ Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/AsianetNewsa... Bengaluru FC made it three wins on the spin to move to the third spot, riding a come-from-behind 3-1 victory over Jamshedpur FC in the Hero Indian Super League at the Athletic Stadium in Bambolim here on Saturday. Daniel Chima Chukwu had given Jamshedpur the lead inside the first minute but Bengaluru made a roaring comeback in the second half, Cleiton Silva (62nd, 90th) scoring twice on either side of Sunil Chhetri's equaliser in the 55th minute. Chhetri scored his 49th goal, equalling Hyderabad FC's Bart Ogbeche who became the all-time highest scorer of the Hero ISL the other day with 49 strikes as Bengaluru stretched their unbeaten run to eight games. Bengaluru now have 23 points from 15 games, same as Kerala Blasters who are second due to better goal difference. Jamshedpur dropped to fourth with the loss with 22 points from 13 matches. Jamshedpur were in the ascendancy in the very first minute of the game, Chima getting on the scoresheet for the second consecutive game since joining the Men of Steel. Alexandre Lima carried the ball through the heart of the pitch and passed to Borish Singh who lay it up for Chima who got in between Alan Costa and Roshan Naorem to first trap the ball and then fire it into the roof of the net. Pegged back so early on, Bengaluru tried hard to equalise but Jamshedpur, missing the services of skipper Peter Hartley due to suspension, sat back and defended well as a unit. The Blues' best chance of the half fell to Chhetri who could not turn in a brilliant Roshan corner despite having to head into an empty net after keeper T.P. Rehenesh committed early. The skipper dragged his header wide and had his hand on his head as his team went into the break trailing by that solitary goal. The Marco Pezzaiuoli-coached team came out all guns blazing in the second period and Chhetri atoned for his miss just before halftime to fire home from inside the box after a long throw from Parag Shrivas saw the ball come off Bruno Ramires' legs and into the path of the veteran marksman. In the next seven minutes, Bengaluru doubled their lead. The hard-working Naorem swung in a superb corner for Silva to nod in past an outstretched Jitendra Singh and into the back of the net. Bengaluru were all over Jamshedpur after taking the lead, Silva and Chhetri combining to almost set Udanta Singh in the clear only for Ricky Lallawmawma to intercept. Silva doubled his tally in injury time, making the most of Narender Gahlot's botched clearance from a throw-in to beat a defender and fire into the far post from a tight angle. Jamshedpur had their chances but Chukwu and Stewart were denied from the goal line as it was Bengaluru's day in office. #HeroISL #LetsFootball #IndianSuperLeague 🔊 LIKE ➡ SHARE ➡ SUBSCRIBE For More Updates: English: https://newsable.asianetnews.com/ Hindi: https://hindi.asianetnews.com/ Malayalam: https://www.asianetnews.com/ Kannada: https://kannada.asianetnews.com/ Tamil: https://tamil.asianetnews.com/ Telugu: https://telugu.asianetnews.com/ Bengali: https://bangla.asianetnews.com/ Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/AsianetNewsa...
