Sunday Night Football Week 16 Matchup – Tennessee Titans vs. Green Bay Packers December 27, 2020, 8.20pm EDT, Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin. Rachael van Oranje and Jeff Reinebold give us their picks for tonight’s matchup! We’ve got a BIG matchup on Sunday Night Football between two opponents with lofty aspirations for playoff success this year. This should be a hotly contested game, in anything but hot conditions, as there is the expectation for a dumping of snow before kick off tonight! POINT SPREAD PICK Tennessee is fighting hard with Indianapolis to win the AFC South, and the Titans should at least go close when they take on current NFC top seed the Green Bay Packers. The Titans have been almost unstoppable on offense lately, thanks largely to star running back Derrick Henry. They have scored at least 30 points in each of their last five games, with Henry having rushed for over 100 yards in seven of his last 10 games. He now comes up against a Packers defense that has struggled against the run this season, with the forecast snow showers and freezing temperatures increasing the likelihood that the big cat gets plenty of carries. While the Titans have been an absolute juggernaut on offense, the same can’t be said for Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers has often looked flawless under center, but there have been occasions when the Packers have struggled to move the chains, most notably last week in the second half against the Panthers. Tennessee’s defense is by no means elite, but it has at times shown up when it has mattered against the pass, and should give the offense the chance to outscore their opponents. This one feels like more of a pick ‘em to me, so I love getting the Titans with a field goal here. GAME TOTALS PICK This is an extremely high line, but I still think it’s worth leaning towards the over. No team seems to be able to stop Tennessee’s offense, and Derrick Henry in particular. As previously noted, the Titans have been scoring for fun recently and I see no reason to think that this Green Bay team will be the one to come up with a solution. However, Tennessee’s defense has also been shipping plenty of points and it’s hard to see them stopping the offensive prowess of Aaron Rodgers and Aaron Jones. The over has cashed in five of Tennessee’s last six games, and a Sunday night shootout looks possible at Lambeau Field. Rachael van Oranje and Jeff Reinebold give us their picks for this Sunday’s matchup! We’ve got a BIG matchup between NFC West opponents as the Seattle Seahawks host the Los Angeles Rams in a battle for the top of the division! Both teams will be looking to improve their playoff position heading into this one! Be sure to check out our Rams vs Seahawks predictions for our expert handicapper’s picks, both ATS and O/U. POINT SPREAD PICK A pivotal NFC West battle here as the Los Angeles Rams head up to play the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks can clinch the division with a win, while the Rams will be in the driver’s seat if they win. The Rams are coming off a humiliating loss to the lowly Jets, and I think now is the perfect time to buy-low on them. For a few reasons, this is a great matchup on paper for them. To take on Seattle, you need an elite corner who can shut down DK Metcalf, and the Rams have one in Jalen Ramsey. Ramsey completely locked him up the first time these teams met, and Russell Wilson barely even looked his way. In that same first meeting, Wilson looked rattled and threw two interceptions while taking six sacks. The Seahawks’ offense has quietly fallen off a cliff after their hot start and Wilson only had 124 yards last week against Washington. This isn’t the type of defense that Jared Goff struggles against, since the Seahawks can’t get pressure. Take the Rams. GAME TOTALS PICK The over is the way to go here. The first time these teams played the total opened nearly 10 points higher than this, and I don’t think what we’ve seen warrants an adjustment quite that large. Emerging young running back Cam Akers is out for this one, which means the Rams will be going pass-heavy. I would already expect that to be the case even with Akers against this burnable Seahawks secondary. Goff struggles when under duress, but he’s always extremely efficient when kept clean,and Seattle doesn’t have much of a pass-rush. The Seahawks are still giving up the most passing yards per game on the year. I think Wilson will have learned from some of his mistakes in the first matchup of these teams and will be a little better here. I wouldn’t bet this big, but I think there’s a decent chance we see a shootout. *Filmed Wednesday before Drew Brees starting news* Sunday Football Week 15 Matchup – Chiefs vs. Saints Rachael Van Oranje and Jeff Reinebold preview this game and give us their NFL picks. The Kansas City Chiefs sit 12-1 after dominating most of this season, their only loss coming in a shock loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill and co look even better than last year, which almost seems impossible as they won the Super Bowl. Their toughest regular season matchup comes against the New Orleans Saints, who are welcoming back Drew Brees back at QB after Tayson Hill deputised under center. They will be looking to bounce back after their shock loss to the Eagles last week. Here is the Pickswise verdict: POINT SPREAD PICK It will be a potential preview of Super Bowl LV when the New Orleans Saints entertain the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Kansas City is 12-1 and has won eight in a row, including victories over Buffalo, Tampa Bay, and Miami. Patrick Mahomes has surged past the rest of the field and is a -200 favorite for NFL MVP. He is averaging a ridiculous 384.8 passing yards over the past six contests, during which he has thrown 17 touchdowns and five interceptions. Although this is an intriguing quarterback battle now that Brees is returning and Taysom Hill can go back to his backup/wildcat role, an obvious edge goes to Mahomes. Brees has not played in more than a month because of broken ribs and a punctured lung. It remains to be seen just how effective the 41-year-old will be right off the bat. A Chiefs victory by a touchdown or more would not be surprising. Kansas City is 11-4-1 ATS in its last 16 on the road against opponents with winning home records. The Saints are 1-4 ATS in their last five against opponents with winning records. Back the Chiefs and do so with confidence. GAME TOTALS PICK Kansas City has exceeded the 30-point mark in five of its past seven games. Mahomes is on fire and his offense is good enough such that it generally wins a matchup with a good defense, which is the matchup we are going to see this weekend. And New Orleans’ defense actually took a step back last weekend, giving up 24 points to Philadelphia–a slumping team that was giving Jalen Hurts’ his first NFL start. As for the Saints’ offense, it has not been kept below the 21-point mark this entire year. Although Brees may not set the world on fire, he is obviously better than Hill at directing the overall ship. The math isn’t hard here when K.C. should score more than 30 and New Orleans should score more than 20. The over is 11-5 in the Chiefs’ last 16 after gaining at least 350 yards in their previous outing. It is also 6-2 in the Saints’ last eight against opponents with winning records.
