Con ese triunfo, los campeones nacionales y de la Serie del Caribe barrieron la miniserie de dos juegos efectuada viernes y sábado entre los dos grandes rivales del béisbol dominicano. Fue la sexta derrota seguida para el Licey y la segunda en dos enfrentamientos este año ante las Águilas. Cinco lanzadores aguiluchos, encabezados por el zurdo José Quintana, se combinaron para propinar la blanqueada de siete hits a los azules. Quintana tiró las primeras 5 entradas por los campeones, permitió cuatro hits, regaló una transferencia y ponchó tres, pero salió sin decisión. La victoria correspondió a Wendolyn Bautista (2-0) quien trabajó dos entradas en blanco. Salvó Neftalí Feliz (1), y cargó con la derrota Aaron Barrett (0-2). Los zurdos Steve Moyers, por los Tigres y Quintana protagonizaron un bonito duelo en las primeras cinco entradas en las que ninguno permitió anotaciones. El juego prosiguió sin anotación hasta el octavo. Por el montículo aguilucho desfilaron, además de Quintana, Bautista (6), Luis Felipe Castillo (8) y Féliz (9). Por Licey, además de Moyers quien trabajó 5 entradas en las que permitió 5 hits sin transferencias y cuatro ponches, lanzaron Antonio Santos (6), González Germen (7), Aaron Barrett (8), Ulises Joaquín (8) y Jairo Asencio (9). A la ofensiva por las Águilas se destacaron Cabrera con dos sencillos y una carrera producida, Juan Carlos Pérez con doble y sencillo, John Nogowski dos sencillos, Leody Taveras un sencillo.
