Why Ferrari hasn't upgraded its 2022 F1 car yet
Why Ferrari hasn't upgraded its 2022 F1 car yet

In a Formula 1 season everyone was tipping to be a massive development race with all-new rules - Ferrari is leading both championships without upgrading its car at all. The F1-75 has won two of the first four races despite pretty much existing in its launch specification, give or take some circuit-specific downforce configurations. Rival Red Bull already introduced one big upgrade during testing and it has started a big weight-saving exercise as well. So the pressure is on Ferrari to respond at some point - but it’s sticking to its original plan for now. #F1 #Ferrari #CharlesLeclerc Subscribe: http://the-race.com/youtube_subscribe Website: http://the-race.com/ Twitter: @wearetherace Instagram: @wearetherace Facebook: http://facebook.com/wearetherace Podcasts: http://the-race.com/podcasts Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, please also hit subscribe to show your support so we'll keep doing what we're doing. https://www.the-race.com http://www.twitter.com/wearetherace

Sainz out of the race on lap one and Leclerc in the barrier and recovering to only 6th position. So, what exactly happened to both drivers and what does it mean in the title fight? First up Sainz. He had his off in qualifying, ending up in the wall in Rivazza in Q2. He tried to carry a bit too much speed into the corner, having turned in on the kerb, which was likely a little damp, and the rear of his car didn’t want to stick. This was another mistake by Sainz, which cannot have done his confidence much good. Being able to predict what a car will do is so important to a driver, and when it doesn’t grip when you expect it to, it makes you drive a little bit below the limit, and therefore slower. Now, I’m not 100% on whether this spin was due to the kerb being damp or Carlos not predicting the balance of the Ferrari properly - either way the result was the same. Sainz then went on to have a good drive in the sprint, getting back up to 4th. However, his start for the Sunday race wasn’t great, getting overtaken by Norris and then being in a position where he was wheel to wheel with Ricciardo. Riccardo was ahead going down to turn one, but Sainz was much more confident on the brakes - which you can often be when you’re on the outside (this is where a little lockup or a bit too much speed won’t cause too much of an issue, like it might if you’re on the inside of another car). ➤Follow Driver61 on: ➤ Instagram- @official_driver61 - https://bit.ly/D61Insta ➤TikTok - @official_driver61 - https://bit.ly/D61TikTok ➤ Follow Scott on: ➤ Twitter - https://twitter.com/scottkmansell ➤ Instagram - @official_driver61 - https://bit.ly/D61Insta #Formula1 #ImolaGP #Driver61

How Charles Leclerc's first major error ignites the F1 2022 title fight

Charles Leclerc’s first major mistake of the 2022 season helped reignite the Formula 1 title battle in a dramatic end to the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. Leclerc spun and damaged his Ferrari in the closing stages of the race, throwing away an easy podium and dropping him to sixth at the finish after a pitstop to change his front wing. At the same time, Max Verstappen’s flawless drive to earn a second win of the season slashed the gap at the top of the championship by 19 points in one weekend. #F1 #ImolaGP #CharlesLeclerc READ MORE HERE https://the-race.com/formula-1/our-verdict-on-leclerc-and-ferraris-imola-disaster/ Subscribe: http://the-race.com/youtube_subscribe Website: http://the-race.com/ Twitter: @wearetherace Instagram: @wearetherace Facebook: http://facebook.com/wearetherace Podcasts: http://the-race.com/podcasts Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, please also hit subscribe to show your support so we'll keep doing what we're doing. https://www.the-race.com http://www.twitter.com/wearetherace

The past mistakes Ferrari must avoid to finally win another F1 title
The past mistakes Ferrari must avoid to finally win another F1 title

Ferrari has returned to the front in Formula 1 at the start of the 2022 season, but can it turn this into a full-on title challenge? Charles Leclerc leads the world championship for the first time in his F1 career as Ferrari has started the year fighting with Red Bull in the opening two races. Ferrari was in this position as recently as 2017 and 2018, but its championship bid collapsed both times. So, what’s changed to avoid repeating the failures across those seasons? #F1 #Ferrari #CharlesLeclerc Subscribe: http://the-race.com/youtube_subscribe Website: http://the-race.com/ Twitter: @wearetherace Instagram: @wearetherace Facebook: http://facebook.com/wearetherace Podcasts: http://the-race.com/podcasts Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, please also hit subscribe to show your support so we'll keep doing what we're doing. https://www.the-race.com http://www.twitter.com/wearetherace

Why the Racing Point controversy erupted into F1 civil war
Why the Racing Point controversy erupted into F1 civil war

Formula 1 appeared to turn into a soap opera that broke off for 90 minutes to let some cars race at the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix at Silverstone, with off-track politics taking centre stage as civil war broke out in the paddock. Renault's successful protest of Racing Point's brake ducts turned out not to be the end of the 'Pink Mercedes' storyline, with the guilty verdict prompting more battle lines to be drawn, more verbal sparring between the teams, and more threats of legal action. With F1's 'Concorde Agreement' talks getting messy just before the intended deadline for the teams to sign new contracts for 2021 and beyond as well, this is a bad time for F1 to drop the harmonious spirit that was fostered during the earlier months of 2020. What's really going on, and why is everyone so angry? Scott Mitchell is your guide through this tangled web of F1 politics.
