Arizona's second game of the season couldn't have gone much better as the Wildcats used a few big run to pull away and eventually earn a 54-point win over UT-Rio Grande Valley on Friday night at McKale Center. The Wildcats played through their bigs and starting center Christian Koloko and starting power forward Azuolas Tubelis combined for 38 points and 20 rebounds in the win against an undersized Vaqueros squad. Arizona hosted Eastern New Mexico in what will be its lone exhibition ahead of next week's season opener, and the Wildcats came away with a dominant 96-50 victory over the Greyhounds. UA returners Benn Mathurin and Christian Koloko shined in the game while newcomers such as Justin Kier and Kim Aiken Jr. also contributed in the victory. Arizona cruises to 96-50 win over Eastern New Mexico in preseason exhibition
The Arizona men's basketball team opened the Tommy Lloyd era with a 96-50 exhibition win over Eastern New Mexico on Monday, Nov. 1 in Tucson. Five different Wildcats scored in double figures as the Wildcats shot 50 percent as a team. Bennedict Mathurin led the way with 18 points. Christian Koloko, Kim Aiken Jr., and Justin Kier had 14 points apiece.

Akinjo's 22 points lead Wildcats to victory in conference home opener
Pac-12 Networks' Matt Muehlebach and Ted Robinson breakdown the action from Arizona men's basketball's 88-74 victory over Colorado on Monday night in Tucson. As he often has this year, junior James Akinjo led the way for Arizona (7-1) with 22 points and eight assists. It was far from a one-man show however, as four other Wildcats (Jermari Baker, Jordan Brown, Christian Koloko, and Terrell Brown) scored in double figures. Evan Battey's 18 points were a bright spot for Colorado, but it was not enough as the Buffs fell to 6-2 on the season.
