W czasie Międzynarodowego Festiwalu Latawców w Xinzhu na Tajwanie omal nie doszło do tragedii. Trzylatka została dosłownie porwana przez latawiec, który wzbił ją na wysokość przynajmniej kilkunastu metrów. Dziewczynka na szczęście bezpiecznie wróciła na ziemię. Festiwal jest organizowany od czterech lat w północnym regionie Xinzhu, który jest znany z silnych wiatrów. Tym razem podmuch okazał się zbyt silny. Na filmikach widzimy jak podmuch niespodziewanie zabiera gigantyczny latawiec z długim ogonem. W jego koniec zaplątała się przypadkowo trzylatka. Po kilku sekundach wróciła na ziemię praktycznie bez szwanku. Miała niewielkie zadrapania na twarzy i szyi, ale i tak została zabrana z matką do szpitala. "Włądze miasta szczerze przepraszają ofiarę i opinię publiczną” – napisał w oświadczeniu burmistrz Lin Chih-chien. Dodał, że władze rozpoczną dochodzenie w sprawie tego incydentu, aby nie dopuścić do podobnych zdarzeń w przyszłości. Kto mógł zawinić? Chen Ko-fang z tajwańskiego oddziału Azjatyckiego Forum Latawców (Asian Kite Forum), przyznała, że latawiec miał zabrać ze sobą cukierki, które miały być rozrzucone z nieba dzieciom. Najmłodsi zwykle są trzymane z daleka, dopóki latawiec nie znajdzie się w powietrzu. Child lifted metres into the air by giant kite at Taiwan festival
Footage shows a girl, 3, in Taiwan being lifted high into the air after becoming entangled in the strings of a kite. The unidentified girl was taking part in a kite festival on Sunday in the seaside town of Nanliao when she was hoisted several metres into the air by the giant, long-tailed orange kite. News reports said the girl was frightened but suffered no physical injuries in the incident.
