We've concluded the New Year's Six and now we're onto the National Championship! What a quick journey it's been, but what a season it's been nonetheless at the same time too! In this episode, George and David hop on the mic and get into some lengthy discussions about particular topics involving in-game rules and opt-out decisions. First up, The Music City Bowl ended in controversial fashion, when it appeared that Tennessee's running back Jaylen Wright had crossed the goal line in overtime, but was ruled down by forward progress when a stalemate occured up against a Purdue defender. The duo break down the fallout over the decision and whether or not the rule needs to be adjusted. The same went for the targetting rule that has clearly played a significant role in the college football landscape. They discuss whether or not it has been fairly implemented for the players playing the game, all before they delve into recapping the New Year's Six. In the Sugar Bowl, it didn't quite exactly live up the hype, but a lot of could've been predicated on the health of Matt Corral, who departed the game with a sprained ankle injury before the first quarter even wrapped up. Baylor's defense, nonetheless, had already done their fair share of suffocating Corral to begin with, before accounting for 10 sacks that propelled Dave Aranda and them to a huge win closing out their season. And while the Peach Bowl had two of their biggest stars opt out for the NFL before the game, that's not to say we didn't ultimately get our entertainment's worth. Michigan State may have stumbled early to a 21-10 deficit, but they came back roaring, courtesy of Payton Thorne and the passing game to 21 unanswered points to snag the win. And the Fiesta Bowl felt like a bizzaro world of both teams, who predominantly identify themselves as defensive juggernauts, but in this one, it was the opposite. The offense of both teams took charge and and absolutely torched their opposing defenses for over 1100 total offensive yards combined. But as memorable as this game was offensively, it paled in comparison to the Rose Bowl, which was a spectacle offensively even more so. Jaxon Smith-Njiba. Enough said. The guy put up ridiculous numbers that would've sufficed as a spectacular day coming from a quarterback alone. But we even witnessed some spectacles from Utah themselves, as they matched Ohio State with 40+ points of their own, before a Buckeyes game-winning field goal put the game to rest. Sadly, the CFP Semi-Finals were a mighty disappointment this year in both games. Cincinnati could not keep up with Alabama offensively, as they were suffocated by Will Anderson Jr. and the Crimson Tide to the point of just tallying 6 points. It proved to be Brian Robinson Jr's day when he racked up over 200 yards rushing to guide Bama back to the National Championship for what seems like the millionth time now that they've appeared in one. And Michigan fell short of the mark as well, struggling to get much against Georgia's historically spectacular defense that wreaked havoc once again. Derion Kendrick and company stymied their opponent once again, with this time allowing a measly 11 points, 4 sacks, and 3 turnovers forced. As a result, we now will witness a rematch of the SEC Championship between the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide. How will the Bulldogs fare in achieving revenge/redemption? Tune into this week's episode to find out more, which is brought to you by Overtime Heroics and sponsored by SimBull!

Ohio State vs Utah Reaction (WHAT A ROSE BOWL!)
Ohio State vs Utah Reaction (WHAT A ROSE BOWL!)

Ohio State Buckeyes vs Utah Utes postgame reaction for "The Granddaddy of Them All," The Rose Bowl, and man! What a game it was! The affair was a WILD one that was back and forth, particularly in the second half, with plenty of offense if you like that sort of thing. Ohio State Football and C.J. Stroud had a field day behind excellent protection from the offensive line. He went 37/46 for 573 yards, had 6 touchdowns, and threw just 1 interception. He was on the mark all game and his receivers made life easy for him, doing an excellent job of getting open. The obvious choice for player of the game was one of those said receivers, Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Njigba had 15 receptions for 347 yards and 3 touchdowns. Marvin Harrison Jr. also had himself a day with 6 receptions for 71 yards and 3 touchdowns. TreVeyon Henderson added another 83 yards on the ground off of 17 carries. Utah Football had their way for much of the first half, scoring 35 points and taking a 35-21 lead into the locker room. Unfortunately, they could only muster up 10 more points in the second half. Cameron Rising had a solid day throwing the ball, going 17/22 for 214 yards, 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. His backup, Bryson Barnes, came in on Utah's final drive with Rising out injured and went 2/2 for 23 yards and 1 touchdown, keeping Utah in the game. But in the end, Kyle Whittingham's Utes couldn't outlast Ryan Day's Buckeyes. Despite Rising adding another 92 yards with his legs and Brant Kuithe having 6 receptions for 77 yards, Utah was unable to outscore Ohio State. Nothing to be down about, though. Many teams cannot accomplish that task, with or without star players opting out.
