NHL PLAYOFFS 2021:STONE, GOLDEN KNIGHTS DEFEAT AVALANCHE IN OT IN GAME 5, TAKE SERIES LEAD
Coach Frenchy is back in the Hockey Nation Live Show booth for another live stream and tonight we do Game 5 between the Vegas Golden Knight and Colorado Avalanche Mark Stone scores in OT and the Vegas Golden Knights defeat the Colorado Avalanche in OT in game 5, take series lead. Mark Stone scored on a breakaway 50 seconds into overtime as the Vegas Golden Knights overcame a two-goal deficit to beat the Colorado Avalanche 3-2 on Tuesday night and take a 3-2 lead in their second-round series. Max Pacioretty corralled the puck after a blocked shot and fed it to Stone, who was off to the races. Stone beat Philipp Grubauer on the glove side to hush what had been a boisterous crowd. Colorado Avalanche vs Vegas Golden Knights Game 3 Preview
The Colorado Avalanche will square off against the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 3 of this second round matchup. After taking Game 2 at home, in overtime, Colorado leads the series 2-0. Vegas is looking to bounce back from this devastating loss by winning on home ice. Ryan Reaves will be unavailable for the Golden Knights, serving his second game of his two game suspension. Mattias Janmark is considered day-to-day after being injured in Game 1. Mikko Rantanen is looking to extend his playoff point streak to 17 straight games after scoring the overtime winner on Wednesday. Philipp Grubauer and Marc Andre Fleury will start in net for the second straight game. Puck drop is at 7PM Pacific in Las Vegas at T-Mobile Arena. Vegas Golden Knights vs Colorado Avalanche Game 2 Preview
The Vegas Golden Knights and the Colorado Avalanche will square off in Game Two of their second-round matchup. The Avs lead the series 1-0 after defeating Vegas 7-1 in Game 1 on Sunday. After two days of rest, the Knights will look to bounce back against Colorado on Wednesday night at Ball Arena. Vegas Forward Ryan Reaves has been suspended for Games 2 and 3 of this series after retaliating against Avalanche defensemen Ryan Graves. Also, Vegas forward Mattias Janmark will be unavailable after leaving Game 1 due to injury after a big hit from Ryan Graves. Marc-Andre Fleury will start in net after sitting out Game 1. Peter Grubauer will start his sixth straight playoff game this season for the Avalanche. Puck drop is at 7PM Pacific Time. Knights fall to Avs in Game 1, lose Janmark
The Vegas Golden Knights lost Mattias Janmark in their 7-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche when he exited the game in the second period following a hit from defenseman Ryan Graves and did not return to action. Forward Ryan Reaves will likely miss time as well for going after Graves.
Vegas Golden Knights vs Colorado Avalanche Game 1 Review
The Colorado Avalanche defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 7-1 in the opening game of this second-round series. Robin Lehner was the starting goaltender for Vegas tonight, while Peter Grubauer was the starting goalie for Colorado. The Avs kicked off the scoring early, and lead 2-0 after the first period. In the second, the Avalanche kept the scoring going, and lead 6-1 after the second period. Colorado was too fast for Robin Lehner and the Vegas Golden Knights tonight. The game got chippy in the third period after Mattias Janmark left the game in the second after getting hit by Graves. Ryan Reaves was ejected, and Colorado was awarded a 9-minute powerplay.
