Quinto partido de la semifinal de la Conferencia Oeste de 1988, disputado en el Forum de Inglewood, comentado a modo retrospectivo por Antonio Lamolda y Antonio Rodríguez, dentro de la programación de partidos históricos que ofrecía el canal Sportmanía. La serie llegaba con empate 2-2 y estaba muy emocionante. Aunque los Lakers comenzaron ganando con solvencia el primer encuentro, los Jazz arrebataron el factor cancha a los angelinos en el segundo en el Forum, y luego se adelantaron ganando el tercer partido en Salt Lake City. Los Lakers, no sin mucho sufrimiento, recuperaron el factor cancha en el cuarto partido, y para este trascendental quinto encuentro se regresaba a tierras californianas con la eliminatoria igualadísima. Por los Lakers, dirigidos desde la banda por Pat Riley, jugaron Magic Johnson, Byron Scott, James Worthy, A.C. Green, Karem Abdul-Jabbar, Mychal Thompson, Michael Cooper y Kurt Rambis. The Los Angeles Clippers are the most underrated team in the NBA now. They could win the NBA championship this year. Regardless, of all the negative attention and news surrounding the Clippers right now and Jerry West. And people making fun of the Clippers and Paul George after the Clippers lost to the Denver Nuggets in the playoffs last year. The LA Clippers still have a very talented basketball team. Kawhi Leonard is still one of best players in the NBA. Kawhi is still only 29 years old. He is still in his basketball prime. Will he leave or go to another team in the future? It doesn’t matter. Kawhi Leonard is a Clipper now and he can still lead the Clippers to the championship. He did it with the Raptors. And on the Raptors, he just got traded there and only had 1 year left on his deal. People at the time were wondering if he would leave the Raptors or not, but Kawhi still helped the Raptors will the Championship. The Clippers also still have Paul George who they gave a max deal extension. Paul George was very disappointing in the playoffs last season. But I think people making fun of him when will make Paul George angry. I believe Paul George will then want the ball and start dominating, and playing better this season. Paul George will want to prove his doubters wrong. I expect Paul George to have big games in the playoffs this season in order to prove his doubters wrong. The Clippers also still have Patrick Beverly, Lou Williams, Ivica Zubac, Marcus Morris, they signed Serge Ibaka, and traded for Luke Kennard. The Clippers still have a lot of veterans, depth, and defense. Last year, was only their first year playing together and it was in the Bubble, a strange experience. So maybe this year, being at home, LA again, might help the Clippers play better. Lastly, the Clippers still have Jerry West working for them as an advisor, Jerry West the logo, the legend, we must never doubt Jerry West because Jerry West is a genius. And he has had some much success in the past with Lakers, Grizzlies, and Warriors. Now the Los Angeles Lakers with Lebron James and Anthony Davis, right now are the better team but one must remember last season everyone said the Clippers had the most talented team in the NBA because they got Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Everyone said that including the media and the fans. Last season, most of the media, ESPN, Fox Sports, and also the fans picked the Clippers over the Lakers because they had just seen Kawhi Leonard lead the Toronto Raptors to the NBA championship the previous season.
