Manchester United thrashed Cardiff City 5-1 during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first game in charge. Marcus Rashford, Ander Herrera, Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, who scored twice, were all on the scoresheet as the visitors romped to victory in south Wales. Here, Sportsmail's CHRIS WHEELER runs the rule over both sets of players at the Cardiff City Stadium. DAVID DE GEA 6.5 - Rescued Mourinho many times but Solskjaer won't want to be quite so reliant on his keeper. No chance with penalty. ASHLEY YOUNG 6.5 - Preferred to Dalot and Valencia at right-back by the new boss, and produced a typically solid performance. PHIL JONES 7 - Back in the side after just five appearances under Mourinho this term, and marshalled United's defence very well. VICTOR LINDELOF 7.5 - Brought the ball out from the back well as United looked to move it forward at every opportunity. LUKE SHAW 7 - Fell out with Mourinho over back twinge, but nothing wrong with his bravery when he cleared and clashed heads with Paterson. ANDER HERRERA 7 - Scored United's second when he had the confidence to let fly from 25 yards. Didn't do that too often before. NEMANJA MATIC 6.5 - Mourinho loyalist will give Solskjaer more of the same. Simple and unfussy alongside Pogba here. PAUL POGBA 8 - Returned from exile on the bench and raised his game for the occasion, helping to set up the second and third goals. JESSE LINGARD 8 - Continues to give United great energy. Involved in the best link-up play and scored twice, having won a penalty. MARCUS RASHFORD 8.5 - Solskjaer will be more inclined to give youth a chance, and Rashford was excellent despite conceding a silly penalty. ANTHONY MARTIAL 7.5 - Gifted Frenchman played with the handbrake off at last and was rewarded with a wonderfully worked goal. Subs: Romero, Bailly, Mata, Pereira (for Martial 87), Fred (for Rashford 79, 6),Dalot, Fellaini (for Matic 87). Scorers: Rashford 3, Herrera 29, Martial 41, Lingard pen 57, 90 Booked: Shaw Etheridge 6.5; Manga 5.5, Bamba 6.5, Morrison 6.5, Cunningham 5; Gunnarsson 6 (Ralls 83); Hoilett 5.5 (Harris 74, 6), Camarasa 6.5, Arter 5 (Zohore 61, 6), Murphy 6; Paterson 5.5. Subs: Smithies, Peltier, Decordova,-Reid, Mendez-Liang, Harris. Scorer: Camarasa pen 38 Booked: Cunningham, Gunnarsson Referee: Michael Oliver 6

An early goal from Matt Doherty wasn't enough for Wolves to even grab a point at the Cardiff City Stadium as Gunnarsson and Hoilett grab a goal each and as a result, revenge for Mr. Neil Warnock! :( Here's my experience of the day - enjoy guys! Love him or loathe him, it is impossible not to admire Warnock’s longevity and this was a victory for the Yorkshireman to cherish. Cardiff v Wolves: Premier League – live! Read more Trailing to Matt Doherty’s first-half goal, Cardiff showed spirit and character in abundance to haul themselves back into the game through Aron Gunnarsson. That gave Warnock’s players the platform to go on and win the game and Hoilett relished the chance to take centre stage, curling in a magnificent right-footed shot that arced into the top corner. Remarkably it was the Canadian’s first Premier League goal for six years. Victory lifts Cardiff to 15th and piles the misery on Wolves, who have now picked up only one point from a possible 18 and badly lost their way after such a promising start to the season. With Chelsea to come on Wednesday, life is not about to get any easier for Nuno Espírito Santo and his players. With April’s tumultuous meeting still fresh in the mind, all eyes were on Warnock and Nuno from the outset. This time, though, there were warm handshakes and smiles all round as the two managers embraced one another prior to kick-off like long lost friends, sharing a joke and giving the impression that there was no lingering animosity. Nuno, however, would have been far happier with what he saw on the pitch in the opening 45 minutes. Wolves were ahead courtesy of Doherty’s goal and for much of the first half frustrated Cardiff, whose supporters were starting to get a little impatient until some pressure just prior to the interval almost yielded an equaliser. Harry Arter was desperately unlucky not to bring parity with a terrific left-footed shot from 16 yards that thudded against the far upright. Six minutes later the ball dropped invitingly for Victor Camarasa after Willie Boly, under pressure from Callum Paterson, was unable to get any distance on his header. The Spaniard’s eyes lit up but he snatched at the chance and totally missed his kick. Doherty was nothing like as forgiving in the Cardiff area and it will pain Warnock that his players were badly caught out by a set piece. Raúl Jiménez met João Moutinho’s corner with a fine twisting header that Neil Etheridge superbly repelled low to his right with one hand but Cardiff were slow to react to the loose ball, in particular Aron Gunnarsson, who was caught on his heels as Doherty converted emphatically with his left foot from about six yards. Wolves could have doubled their lead shortly afterwards followed a breakaway from a Cardiff corner but Adama Traoré, making a rar
