Pakistan has now set a world record—hosting a tournament at home only to be knocked out and sent back home early! The new stadiums in Lahore and Karachi hadn’t even been fully unwrapped before Pakistan was eliminated. The same team that had been whining for months about India not coming to Pakistan couldn’t even last a few games in their own tournament! Their performance was so slow and dreadful that it felt like they were the rightful heirs of tortoises, not the Mughals! Rizwan’s batting was so sluggish that even a 120-year-old grandma could run faster. Playing with fear and playing cautiously are two different things, but this Pakistani team doesn't seem to know the difference. The moment Shaheen Afridi bowled a brilliant yorker to dismiss Rohit Sharma, it seemed like Pakistan might have a chance. But as soon as Gill and Kohli started their counter-attack, it was game over! Watching them bat against Pakistan’s bowling felt like big brothers playing against 12-year-olds in the neighborhood. Poor Rizwan looked so stressed on the field that it was unclear if he was nervous about the match or worried about speaking English in the post-match interview! And as we predicted before the match, even if Kohli isn’t in top form, he can still destroy Pakistan in a wheelchair at the age of 150! And that’s exactly what happened!
