The latter was playing second fiddle to Mayers but showed intent by lofting Kagiso Rabada on his first ball for a six. But the South African pacer had the last laugh on the LSG skipper and dismissed Rahul on the next delivery. Mayers continued his onslaught and hammered his fourth fifty of the season. Ayush Badoni was promoted to number three and batted freely. Mayers and Badoni added 33 runs for the second wicket. Mayers (54 off 24) too was taken care of by Rabada in the last ball of the powerplay. LSG smoked 74 runs in the first six and lost both the openers. Badoni and Marcus Stoinis took off and smashed the bowling side to all parts of the ground stitching 89 runs for the third wicket.
