La 18e étape verra la course se diriger vers son septième et dernier sommet, l'Alto de Piornal. La montagne elle-même sera gravie deux fois, les coureurs s'attaquant d'abord à sa face est (13,5 km à 5 %) avant de s'attaquer à sa face ouest (13,3 km à 5,5 %). GC Showdown On Final Climb | Vuelta A España 2022 Stage 18 Highlights
Stage 18 sees the race heads towards its seventh and final summit finish atop the Alto de Piornal. The mountain itself will be ascended twice, with the riders first tackling its eastern face (13.5km at 5%) before then taking on its western face (13.3km at 5.5%). The two climbs are virtually identical but will either be hard enough to create big gaps between the GC men? High Altitude Tests Riders On Queen Stage | Vuelta A España 2022 Stage 15 Highlights
Stage 15 is the Queen stage of the 2022 Vuelta a España. The peloton first take on the Cat-1 Alto del Purche (8.5km at 7.6%), before the only "Especial" category climb of the race: the 2,512m-high summit of Sierra Nevada. At 22.1km in length with an average gradient of 6.7%, this is the hardest climb at the race and one that’s certain to flip the GC on its head. La Vuelta 2022 Étape 14 Résumé
La 14ème étape verra les coureurs pénétrer dans la tristement célèbre chaîne de montagnes de la Sierra Nevada pour une nouvelle arrivée au sommet, cette fois au sommet de la Sierra de la Pandera (22,9 km à 5,2 %) - une ascension populaire de la Vuelta, qui y a participé cinq fois depuis sa première apparition en 2002. La dernière partie de l'ascension - 8,2 km à 7,2% - est de loin la plus difficile et créera sûrement des écarts de temps entre les prétendants à la victoire finale !
