Stockport County FC is a football club in the south east of Greater Manchester, England. The club was founded in 1883 as Heaton Norris Rovers and changed its name to Stockport County Football Club in 1890 to reflect the town gaining County Borough status. The club's nickname, "The Hatters," is derived from the 19th century hat manufacturing industry in Stockport. The club was relegated to the non-league for the first time in their history in the 2010-11 season, but won the National League North (equivalent to the 6th division) in the 2018-19 season. The club was based at the Green Lane stadium until 1902, but since then they have been using the current Edgeley Park. The Cheadle End, located behind the goals on the west side of the stadium, is the largest stand with a capacity of over 5,000. Also, The 1883, located in the same stand, is also used as a wedding hall and conference room to support the club's revenue outside of match days. The Railway End, the opposite stand, has an electronic billboard. The FA Trophy is open to all 310 teams (2021-22 season) from the 5th to 8th Tiers, and their opponent, Cheshunt FC, are a club in the Isthmian League Premier Division (equivalent to the 7th division). In the early stages of the game, the home side Stockport County made a lot of mistakes and were on the attack, but they managed to keep their opponents at bay in the first half. After a change of players from the second half, the game gradually began to flow and Stockport County scored the first goal in 60 minutes.
