Evgenii Dadonov scored his 10th and 11th goals of the season back-to-back in the second period and Artem Anisimov had three assists as the Senators doubled-up the Canadiens to end Montreal's three-game win streak. Anton Forsberg finished with 35 saves in the victory for Ottawa. The Senators picked up their fourth win over the Canadiens this season but how did Ottawa manage to defeat a Montreal team that dominated them just a few days ago? Director of Scouting Craig Button breaks it down and discusses the play of Brady Tkachuk, who is showing qualities of a captain. 2020-2021 NHL Season Original Broadcast: TSN Go to www.tsn.ca
The Montreal Canadiens would play at home tonight and would end up losing to the Ottawa Senators by a final score of 6-3. Brady Tkachuk would open the scoring less than a minute into the game on the power-play before Tyler Toffoli would tie it up with his 1st since getting back into the lineup before Connor Brown would score shorthanded before the end of the 1st. In the 2nd Josh Anderson would score to tie it up but Evgenii Dadonov would score twice to give the Senators a 4-2 lead before Josh Anderson would get his 2nd to cut the lead down to one. Artem Anisimov would make it 5-3 in th 3rd and Drake Batherson would seal the deal with an empty net goal to give the Senators a 6-3 win over the Canadiens. With this loss the Canadiens are now 16-9-9 with 41 points to remain 4th in the North Division.
