Rovers hit the ground running and could have scored 5 or 6 in this match had it not been for Derby's strong defense. The deadlock was broken however via Joe Rothwell who's first goal for the club was a cheeky dink over the Derby keeper. Rovers added a 2nd right at the death via Bradley Dack who tapped in the final ball after a great build up by Rovers. If Rovers can deliver this kind of performance week in week out we could have a great season on our hands. However a bit too late for that. As for Derby they will need to dig deep to get their playoff push back on track. Later on the channel I will take a detailed look at the match, with heat maps, words from the fans, the gaffa and more. The only goal of the game came in the 1st half through danger man Brit Assombalonga who also scored in the reverse fixture. Rovers were dealt another blow as they were reduced to 10 after Derrick Williams received a straight red card on a challenge on Ashley Fletcher. Rovers dug deep in the 2nd half and seem to perform much better with a man less on the field. In fact Rovers has two golden opportunities to level as both Bradley Dack and Danny Graham had great opportunities to score. Rovers will hope this torrid run will end next time as they kick on towards Birmingham at St Andrews. Despite dominating the 1st half it was Reading who took the lead right on the stroke of half time as Swift scored Readings 1st of the match. Mowbray deciding to leave Dack, Graham and Reed on the bench, opting for a much changed attacking trio up front, had to swallow his pride and bring both Dack and Graham on to try and salvage a result. However Rovers equalizer came from an unlikely source that being Bell. Bell's strike made it an interesting final few minutes, however Reading pounced for the winner with Luis Oliviera scoring the winner with only a few minutes left on the clock. Later on the channel we will take a detailed look at the match, catch some words of wisdom from Tony Mowbray and hear what the fans have to say. Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez should have crack at signing Bradley Dack. Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray believes Bradley Dack is too good to be 'languishing in the middle of the Championship' - and he is right. How Newcastle United must wish they had the means to take the 25-year-old and give him the platform he clearly deserves. They are, after all, desperately short of goals and creativity in the No 10 position. Dack has now been involved in 20 goals from 25 appearances this season. He has scored 13, the latest of which was a bullet header during Saturday's 1-1 draw at St James' Park. Figures as wild as ยฃ20million have been quoted for a player who cost Blackburn ยฃ750,000 from Gillingham in 2017. But, on this evidence, he might just be worth it. 'The only previous time I played a competitive game against a Premier League side was for Gillingham against Tottenham - and we got beat 5-0!' said Dack. 'I remember thinking afterwards, "I'm a long way off from this kind of level". It wasn't a great feeling. 'But playing against Newcastle, I proved to myself that I can play at this level. A few of our boys have said my header was Shearer-esque!' Dack makes no secret of his role model, and his judgement is sound. 'I always looked up to Frank Lampard and the goals he scored from midfield,' he added. 'I probably wasn't quick enough to play as a centre-forward, so attacking midfield is my best position and he was the best at it.' Newcastle forced a barely-deserved replay when Matt Ritchie converted an 85th-minute penalty after Corry Evans tripped Ayoze Perez. Rafa Benitez's priorities lie with Premier League survival, something he recently claimed would be a 'miracle' for them to achieve. 2/5 - Eight changes for Newcastle and a feeling they would have been happy to duck out. At least Blackburn and their travelling fans enjoyed it.ย There is a feeling that comment has affected morale in the dressing-room and in the stands. But Benitez said: 'You are insisting on that, but the players know exactly what we were talking about. It is quite obvious we are working so hard, we have this situation and the players are trying their best.'
Rafa Benitez admits replay against Blackburn is far from ideal. Rafael Benitez has admitted an FA Cup replay was almost the last thing he wanted after seeing Newcastle earn a 1-1 draw to deny Blackburn a third-round victory. Matt Ritchie's 85th-minute penalty spared the Premier League side's blushes after Bradley Dack had headed the visitors in front at St James' Park, although another game was not on Benitez's wish-list as he attempts to keep the club in the top flight. Asked if a replay was the worst possible scenario, he replied: "Yes, in terms of another game, another situation that you have to manage with more minutes, more players, more risk. "I am not happy with another game - I would prefer to win this game and that's it. But if you cannot, at least you have another chance and then try to win the next one." Benitez saw a team featuring eight changes to the one which started against Manchester United in midweek turn a disjointed display as the club attempted to avoid a seventh third-round exit since owner Mike Ashley took overalmost 12 years ago. On a day when takeover speculation and the prospect of another frustrating transfer window were among the main talking points, they rescued themselves in the nick of time to leave their manager at least able to take some positives. Benitez said: "Some young players playing, some players who have not been playing having 90 minutes under their belts, the reaction of the team after we conceded and (Florian) Lejeune coming back after four and a half months with aserious injury. Those are positives." If Benitez's relief at avoiding a ninth defeat in 12 home games this season was tempered by the prospect of a replay a matter of days before a crunch league clash with fellow strugglers Cardiff on Tyneside, opposite number Tony Mowbrayheaded back to Lancashire wondering what might have been. He said: "The dressing room is very quiet, very disappointed. We couldn't really see Newcastle scoring tonight, to be honest and yet maybe fatigue, I'm not sure, but a soft penalty - I haven't seen it back but VAR, obviously, confirmed it as a penalty, so we'll accept it. "It's just disappointing. The team that you saw tonight is the team that's just coming off the back of playing the top four in the Championship back-to-back - Norwich, Leeds, Sheffield United and West Brom - and that's the sort of performance-level we've given, really hard-working, honest. "We obviously could do with a bit more quality as we move the club forward if we're going to try to get out of this division, of course. The Championship, there are some massive clubs in there. "But we have got a great spirit and togetherness and camaraderie and it takes us a long way, and I thought that was evident today." Predict 6 correct scores for your chance to win ยฃ250K.
We're sh*t and we know we are! Goals: Dack (Blackburn Rovers) Ritchie (Newcastle United)
Newcastle 1-1 Blackburn: Matt Ritchie's late penalty rescues Toon in FA Cup. Newcastle were spared an embarrassing FA Cup exit after Matt Ritchie grabbed an 84th minute equaliser from the penalty spot. Bradley Dack had put the Championship side ahead in the 56th minute with a bullet header from a cross by Elliott Bennett. More to follow

Blackburn took the lead through Bradley Dack who made it two goals in two games. Newcastle equalized via a penalty deep into the match Matt Ritchie the goalscorer. To be honest I felt Rovers were in control of the match, and could find themselves a little bit unlucky not to have made it through to the 4th road proper. Rovers and Newcastle will go again in a replay, and both names for now will go into the hat for the 4th round.
