This video takes a deep dive into what make James Harden's Step Back so deadly! These basketball shooting tips will help you instantly increase your scoring average! The awesome thing about these simple basketball shooting tips is that they are super easy to implement for players at every level. By implementing these shooting tips into your game you can almost immediately skyrocket your scoring and your overall basketball skill level! While optimizing your step back jumper just like James Harden! So my first shooting tip when it comes to James Harden's Step Back is "the set up" this is truly what makes James Harden such a deadly scorer in the NBA. His set up is when he ultimately decides how he wants to attack his defender. By isolating his defender on the perimeter he can focus on how the defender is playing him, and attack the weakness of the defense. This is the first key to his signature step back. My second tip when it comes to breaking down James Harden's Step Back Jumper is to "sell the move". This is massively important to getting great separation. James Harden does a phenomenal job of selling his shoulders and his eyes a certain direction to force the defense to turn, and once they open their hips he hits them with the step back. If we look at the elite scorers in the NBA think of guys like Stephen Curry, Trae young and James Harden. They all do such a good job of selling as if they are going one way before hitting the defense with a step back. That is why they all get MASSIVE separation! My third scoring tip to optimize your step back is to "stab your foot and decelerate". This simply means to come to an abrupt stop so you can really launch into the step back! James Harden is arguably the best player in the NBA when it comes to his ability to stop quickly. This deceleration is what makes his step back so deadly and unstoppable. My fourth basketball shooting tip to master Jame Harden step back is to "pocket the ball" this is a hugely important, but under utilized aspect of Harden's step back. By keeping your dribble live you can actually get much better separation without it being a travel. James Harden does a great job of pocketing his dribble for extra separation! My last tip to master the James Harden step back is, "change up your separation angle". By switching up your separation angle defenders never know where Harden will step back to. This is a big time key so the defense never has the advantage. So make sure you continue to switch up your separation angle and keep the defense on their toes. This can lead to lights our scoring, by simply getting cleaner looks off your step back. Evan Battey DROPS a PHYSICAL 21 PTS vs USC Trojans | Colorado Buffaloes | Next Ones
#EvanBattey #NextOnes Evan Battey had a challenge down low on both sides of the court especially on offense because in order to get the ball to Battey, Colorado had to penetrate USC’s zone. The Trojans zone was similar to UCLA’s but USC was double-teaming forwards if the ball was in their hands. On Thursday, the Buffs broke the Bruins’ zone with shooting and they caught fire. However, the Buffaloes’ shooting was subpar on Saturday and the only way to break the zone was to penetrate it and make the offense work inside the paint. Battey would be that worker going against USC’s senior forward Bennie Boatwright and junior forward Nick Rakocevic. “We wanted to go after them and get them into foul trouble because without them they are a different team,” Boyle said. With the ball in his hands Battey led the Buffs in scoring in the first half with 12 points, and ended the game with a season-high of 21. Those points came from either posting up and grinding against USC’s two big men or from simple jumpers a few feet away. A forward’s effort often goes unnoticed but in a game that was as physical as this one, Battey got the crowd on its feet when the game seemed out of reach. For example, in the final seconds of the first half Battey got the ball low and went to work. His patience on the block paid off as he scored the final basket of the half and got the Buffs’ deficit to within seven. On defense, his performance initially was cleaner than it has been in the past. Battey picked up a foul quickly in the first half but he only picked up one to start. He had the presence of mind to move his feet and not bring down his hands as USC was shooting which typically contributes to Battey’s fouls during a game. Battey played physical but he was smart about it on defense because the Buffs needed his size. “I was just trying to make it as has hard for him to catch as possible,” Battey said. [I tried to] really bother him and be a constant nag when [Rakocevic] has the ball and when he doesn’t have the ball,” he said. He boxed out some of USC’s tallest to either get over the back fouls or a Buffs’ fast break would begin. Battey brought the physicality on defense because early on USC was winning the physical aspect of the game. But Battey could not be perfect forever. Scottish Premiership champions Celtic fell apart in the second half of Thursday's Europa League clash, with Dedryck Boyata and Jack Hendry under fire. Not for the first time this season, bad defending has cost Celtic dear. Brendan Rodgers’ side were a goal up and flying in Thursday’s Europa League clash away at Red Bull Salzburg, Odsonne Edouard giving the visitors a second-minute lead. But Celtic left Austria with a 3-1 defeat after a second half performance in which their problems at the back were exposed once again. But the Belgian and the Scot were taken to the cleaners in the second half as the prolific Munas Dabbur netted twice. Speaking on BT Sport’s live coverage (4 October), former Celtic and Rangers striker Kenny Miller has taken aim at the two Bhoys defenders. “They never defended the balls into the box properly. The positions of the centre-backs were not right from the outset, particularly for the second goal,” Miller said. Celtic fans would struggle to disagree. Boyata might be one of the best defenders in Scottish football, but his limitations have been frequently exposed in Europe and he floundered again last night, making a mockery of the big bids that were made for him this summer. Hendry, meanwhile, continues to toil in Celtic colours, having failed to convince since his £1.5 million move from Dundee in January.
